Other: telephone.

Seriously, why do office phones have to be so loud? If you're at your desk, you'll hear a quiet ring or even see a silent flashing light, and if you're not at your desk you can't answer it anyway, so it just drives your colleagues nuts.

Nothing gets on my nerves worse than a loud talker.

Now really violent noises like car alarms or train horns scare the bejeezus out of me, loud talkers is the one noise I just can't tolerate.

You would hate my next door neighbor. Soon as he gets home, he starts talking loudly on his cell phone while sitting on the porch, or to another neighbor. He's the kind of guy who thinks he has a large audience listening spellbound to every word. I long to yell "Shut the f---k UP!"

Sudden loud noises bother me the most. Like thunder, fireworks, balloons popping, ect. Loud beeping can irritate me if it's going on for a while. When I used to use my alarm to get up in the morning, I would nearly have heart attack every time it went off.

I hate the sound of the toilet water running after I've flushed. I'm relieved when it stops.

And oh my god, right now my truck has started making THE most horrible sqeaking noise I have ever heard. And I cannot get it to stop!!

I went to the store today and bought a can of Liquid Wrench (it's waaay better than WD-40) and some lithium grease to lube up every moving thing underneath my truck. It's so loud, I can't stand it!

Another noise that really gets me is from the movie Return of the King. In the scene where the Wraith King comes out on his giant ...wyveryn. That flying thing lets out an ear-shattering high pitched scream that I just cannot tolerate.

Clapping, stomping, whistling, loud talking, shouting, noisy tapping on desks, nails on chalkboard, and many, many other things.

I hate the vacuum.

I also dislike a variety of other loud but unpleasant sounds, like the beeping of the oven at my work, the kids next door screaming. I hate a lot of simple sounds more though, like cutlery scraping the bottom of plates, polystyrine rubbing together, etc.

the computer illiterate lady in my office saying to me "can you come here a minute" she always says it the same way in the same pitch. i can imagine her saying it even now, hours later.

people talking in loud voices. i hate that too.

also the high pitched sound from my roommates dvd player drives me crazy. I don't understand how anyone can watch a movie with that sound. It bothered me so much I went out and bought us a new dvd player.

All the noises in the vote list set off a melt down in am,they are all as bad as each other, but suppose lawnmower is worse as they seem to be in use here on most days.
Anything that isn't a soft, low sound will be on my bad list, apart from snoring, can cope with that depending on the level of it.

There actually not really any ounds that can annoy me, in the sense that OP probably meant. The only problem is that sometimes interesting sounds can steal my attention. (I love analysing sounds)
What can really annoy me, however, is some sorts of music, especially ballads and chessy pop. It just makes me restless.

There are so many, I think I am just easily irritated in general , the worst would be the sound of a dog licking itself , the sound of wind on the telephone cables outside my window , wind in trees , banging gates , car alarms and music comeing from cars when you cant here the music just the boom boom noise , but there are so many sometimes even the computer hum drives me nuts.
