for me, my obsessions generally jump from anime to anime... or one area of fandom to another within an anime... i also obsess over people (which could be a problem, since i end up stalking them..
) when i start obsessing over a person, i usually find all the sites they frequent online first.. gather any and all information about them, as well as pictures they may have posted online.. and store in in a folder on my computer. but, of coarse, i never approach or talk to any of them. in high school, my obsession jumped from guy to guy quite a bit, but all the guys were pretty goths or emos. lol. my senior year, i was obsessed with a freshmen boy.. i still go back to his sites now and then for updates.. but mostly, i've moved on. my current stalkee is a boy only a year younger than me (making him 20). i've actually been obsessing over him since summer before last... my longest boy-obsession yet. but he really reminds me of me.. doesn't talk much, doesn't keep eye-contact, etc... i wonder if he has AS... or maybe he's just very shy. he isn't goth or emo, though.. but he's still pretty. one thing i've noticed, which is kinda weird, is that all the guys i've obsessed over have long noses.. i donno if i'm attracted to the nose or if it's just coincidence.. lol. but the longest obsession i've ever had was my obsession with the anime, Digimon. i've obsessed over Digimon (seasons 1 and 2) for like 8 years or something. it's actually what inspired me to go into Character Animation.
i also went through a faze where i was obsessed with Egypt, mostly mummies and stuff.. and then just with mummies in general... which still fascinate me. i'm also fascinated with how the body moves... my goal is to either sculpt a doll that can move just like a person, or make one with cloth. i've already made cloth dolls with skeletons.. but it's hard finding material to use that works just like the joints of the bones.. i might end up doing a colab where i sculpt the individual bones, string them together, find something to use as muscles that can restrict certain motions.. and then give it some cloth skin... i've seen some beautiful dolls online that move pretty realistically, and i really want one.. but i still want one that moves exactly like a real person... i've been learning the major muscle groups in my Drawing in Motion class lately.. and it's really interesting.
