I respect cops, they keep the criminals and sleazebags under control. The keep the community somewhat 'civilized' instead of anarchy.

I think about what it would be like to be a cop. Having to deal with all these bad people all the time, liars, druggies, dangerous people, the 'animals'. You never know when someone will pull out a weapon on you. It seems like a VERY stressful and frightening job. Cops put their lives on the line.

Cops can be as*holes. But you know what? If I was a cop dealing with these types of people. I'd be suspicious and cautious of anyone I pull over. Being an as*hole cop is probably an effective way to get respect and obedience from people.

There are some cops who are corrupt though, that just about had it with people and don't care anymore.

Good cops and pigs.

True, but pigs by far outnumber good cops unfortunately.

Unfortunately, it's difficult for me to even trust good cops unless it's an emergency like a violent gang breaking into my house with assault rifles or something.
This is why though. I used to know a good cop at one time, his name was officer merril. He started off good, hell I would sit there talking about smoking weed in front of him and he was cool. But then one day the badge went to his head and he flipped, started planting false evidence on my friends to get them locked up and what not (one of those friends was just cleaning his life up because he JUST had a baby boy he had to take care of!)

My mum has a friend from El Paso, Texas and he is white. He drives from California back to El Paso every so often. He had never been stopped by a cop during the drive, until he brought a friend who is black with him. Then they ended up getting pulled over more than ten times for all sorts of different problems.
My brother has a Philipino friend named Nemets. One night around 11:30 or so, Nemets left my brothers house in San Diego and was walking down the street to his car, when a cop stopped him. The cop asked what Nemets was doing outside and said that he was not supposed to be out that late. The curfew for people under eighteen is 11:00 pm, however, Nemets is over twenty-five, and could certainly not be mistaken for a teenager. The cop was very suspicious, but he had to let Nemets go when he found out Nemets age and that Nemets was just about to go home.

That's a whole different problem with cops that needs to be addressed, racism amoung cops does run rampant in some areas. In my local area an inter-racial couple pulled into applebee's (the lady was white and her man was black), and the cops just went up to him, began harrassing him, and then beating him down with their night sticks. It was all over the news. And the black guy's gf was screaming frantically and dialling 911 on her cell phone.
The cop-criminals were arrested.... I dunno what happened with them from there, they should have fired and imprisoned them but chances are they just put them on suspension, wouldn't even be surprised if they were on paid suspension (by the way what the f**k is the purpose of paid suspension? paying someone to sit on their ass?).

That's sick. I wonder if they even tried to come up with an excuse for that one.

I hate hate HATE cops, with their officious superior attitude, their jumping to conclusions, their lack of respect for personal boundaries, their hunger for power and domination, and their delusion that they're smarter than everyone else. Most of all, I hate cops for the way they forgo solving real crimes like break-ins and car thefts, and instead they harass ordinary citizens on their way to work for driving 10km/h over the limit.

I've had my truck stolen once and broken into twice, and nothing nothing NOTHING ever came of it. They didn't even TRY. There has been a serial killer in my city for many years now. He has killed at least twelve women. They've only ever produced one suspect, and I think they were just parading him in front of the media because people were starting to get really angry. That was a year ago and nothing ever came of that either.

The only time I ever see cops is when they're standing on the side of the goddamn road and pointing their stupid f***ing radar guns at people. They're also fond of setting up "road checks" where they're techinically supposed to be looking for drunk drivers, but they like to inspect cars and check licenses and insurance papers while they're at it. It stops up traffic, wastes people's time and makes people late for things. They're all lazy, useless, power-hungry, officious, stupid bastards.

Sounds EXCACTLY like cops where i live.
They're practicly thieves instead of crime solvers.
