The weather happens to be one of my "special interests." In 1971, I ran up a $600 phone bill calling the weather forecast numbers throughout the US.

Jute, that's a pretty odd-looking signature. Is it in a conlang or something?

It's an abstract language called Pangean. I came across someone using it on another autism forum and on a blog so decided to try and use it myself. The language is fluid and very few of the words have any fixed meanings.

Pangaea (spelling), I believe, was the original one-piece landmass of the earth circa 500,000,000 BC.

Yes, Pangaea also spelled Pangea was the original single supercontinent landmass that split into Gondwanaland and Laurentia. I think the name Pangean for the language is because it's sort of a proto-language, a language that hasn't evolved to a stage in which words have fixed meanings.

You must really be into linguistics.

I believe Hans Christian Anderson, in addition to his fame as a fairy-tale writer, also was an innovative linguist of the 19th century.

I like to sing almost everything and often turn things into song lyrics. I also like to make little sounds and repeat myself. I think it records information into my brain somehow if I repeat it out loud. Not sure how to explain this.

That's a great facility to have.

I'm totally lacking in this facility.

To make up lyrics on the spot is pretty good, even if the singing isn't "good."

You never know....you might have a great voice, and not know it. Maybe this is part of your "genius arsenal."

Thanks - I think a lot of it is actually echolalia, words from songs I know... or I just sing out the words I was already going to say...

You should start writing your posts in a poetry style:

I used to write quite a bit when I was in my 20s.

But lately my words seem like data entries

I gotta ask:
kraftiekortie, do you notice anything synchronicitous here?

I'm not really that interested in linguistics, somebody else invented the concept of Pangean, I just found the idea to be original and intriguing, so I adopted it myself.
