Personally, it's very much a non-issue for me. If two entities can breed and want to breed, I don't have any objections to them breeding, regardless of whatever cultural or biological differences there may be.

What about a goat and a chimpanzee? Or a human and a sheep?

It's fine by me. What would be wrong about it? It wouldn't technically be breeding, since no offspring could result, but inter-species copulation of other sexual behavior doesn't raise any problems for me, in and of itself. There would likely be complications though, in the sense of one member being unwilling, but that's a problem of rape rather than inter-species interactions.

I just think that is kind of sick.

Do you think it's sick in the sense of "Ewww... nasty." or "Lets deprive them of their rights (imprison) for engaging in this hideous act!"? One of those is an opinion, which you're entitled to. The other is a harmful act against another without their consent and which doesn't serve to protect others from greater harm, which I hold to be immoral in much the same way as I gather that you hold beastiality to be immoral.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it mean that if two species can mate and produce viable offspring then they are technically NOT two different species? (trying to remember Heredity & Evolution class I took...)

If this is true, /me wonders how many hominids could be recategorized into the same species...
