This isn't specifically for autism, but just for better sleep. Pillows which stay cool, you see, I have an issue with my hands. Besides always feeling the need to move them, I feel the need to cool them down when they get too hot. I sometimes used to turn over my pillow and press my hands against it.

Me neither.
And I'm just fine with that.

I've never tried any autism products either. I have toyed with the idea of trying a weighted blanket, but they're so expensive.

I did a search on autism products and was surprised at how many of them I had used growing up. Back then, they were called children's books or children's toys, instead of books for teaching autistics life and social skills or sensory toys, but they were the exact same products. 8O

All of my stress toys count, as I have had them from my younger years to the present. They have helped me get through some major issues (especially during my school times), and I have enjoyed playing with them as well. Also, my books on autism would count as well, since they have helped me get a better insight into having autism and how to cope with it, along with really helpful methods.

I thank all of them for that :D

...I guess I'm supposed to agree with Phoenix and Twilight , but I don't feel that way .
It would be nice to have some things in general- :( - And , even though I say this semi-humorously , in a marketing-oriented society , having some things marketed to/for you mean you're somebody  - I just HAVE SO LITTLE , TOO !
I'd like to have - at least a few of - those things :( . I've had a couple of the books , since they've been mentioned - I've said I " try not to buy new books now " , as I am homeless and have things endlessly stolen/otherwise spirited a way from me . I have (I am doing this computing on a non-=profit palce's computer lab) NOTHING ! Essentially .
Once again I aam running into this " General Error " thing where the site refuses to put my post up - I add on to it , thinking " making it something new " might make a later attempt go up .

Where does one find such magic pillows??? I'm very heat sensitive and have always hated it when my pillows would heat up. I've always slept with a bunch of pillows so that I could rotate between them when one would heat up. I'd love to have one that would stay cool on its own.

I use a latex pillow with a Coolmax protector and a bamboo fabric pillow slip. The pillow stays much cooler than with cotton covers. That works for me, although The Unleasher may have another solution.

Mine is the pillow and not the case. I don't know what the pillow is called, but I can tell you, it is not fully stuffed. This allows air to stay present in the pillow for the cooling process to take place.

Unrelated but I have to say that I love your signature, Leahcar.

Thank you. (^∀^)
It was just a little thing I wrote a few years ago when I first joined the site.

I've never tried items specifically catering to autistics. It's usually just whatever I'm touching (pen, lighter, etc.) or something involving my body. I probably should try something soon though. I used to scratch at my arms until they bled when I was a kid and I find myself scratching at my skin more and more again as I age. My two year old son (ASD) doesn't really seem to enjoy any of the overpriced things we have purchased for him. The weighted blanket, compression vest, etc. I'm hesitant to try anything for either of us anymore because I get annoyed when I think about how overpriced things for autistic people are and many times they just aren't even good enough.

I almost forgot! This was given to me (made for me?) by my grandmother who recently passed away. I do not know if she knew about my autism (because of her late alzheimer's) but this was given to me before my diagnosis anyway; I do not know if she made it for me, or bought it because it made her think of me; but I think it is a good product for autistics.

It is called a Fit. You throw the Fit when you, well, "throw a fit".  It is light and soft so nothing breaks! :D I regret getting rid of the last one. :( Now, I need to make or buy a new one.

Exactly! I would almost swear that the exact same product costs more when it is sold as a "tool for autistics" than when it was sold as a "toy for children".

Lol, those are adorable :D I love the little hairy ones with the googly eyes. Something like that might help me, as I've put holes in walls before. Knowing my luck though, I'd wind up throwing the fit at something breakable!
