It represents the Aspergic trait of not knowing personal space and a tendency to behave inappropriately. It shouldn't be perceived as patronising.

I noticed it only in the case of Gregory :?

As a description, it is too general. It can mean so much things...

I don't think there was any condescendence in the character.

So i watched it again and i can't believe i didn't notice he was always doing something with his hands either shaking or fidgeting with his hands or flicking his fingers. In the scene where he was interviewing for a job he was fidgeting with his keys. I always do that when i talk to my boss or my psychiatrist. If i have a jacket on i put my hand in my pocket to fidget with my keys.

I liked the movie and thought Josh Hartnett was very good in it, even thou i don't like him in any other movies. I'm also ticked off that he refused to do publicity for the movie and so contributed to the movie not doing well in the theatres.

Here is the trailer you can see where he is doing things with his hands.

Has me curious, because I really didn't notice any of that stuff. I *think* I may do stuff with my hands though, and knew it.

I thought he did well too. I relate a lot to that character in fact, even though I'm female. I don't quite do that numbers thing but I do tend to factor, out loud, on city buses.
