Although I am 32 years old I find that a lot of the time I feel a lot younger mentally like I am still 14, 15. I find it can be frustrating as I wish I was a bit more mature. Also get embarrassed by the fact I have to have people help me to do things at times.
I have that too so you're not alone.
Saaaame!!

Now, if only my body would act as if it was younger...

Some people are lucky enough to look younger

During my tween's and teens, I felt I was in my toddler years. During my 20's, I felt like I was in teens. Now, during my 30's (I'm 35) I'm going through the stuff that most people in their 20's go through (finishing college, working all the time, doing internships, trying to find a job).

I was just thinking about this the other day, too. I guess this is common, eh? Intellectually, though ... well my IQ is about 135. Go figure.

I think I'm mentally younger than my age, I still like the things that I grew up with.
I still like playing on swings, reading my old children's books.

I have Asperger's (and Bipolar Disorder) and I have the same problem. I still live at home with my mom who takes care of me and I am 28 years old. I cannot drive or pay my own bills or do a lot of the things my brother and sister can do. People also tell me all the time that I look and act younger than I really am and I still get mistaken for being a teenager, but my body itself is starting to age because last year I started noticing little shiny grey hairs in my black hair.

I don't know to say I'm mentally younger but I was mentally and emotionally stunted for a while upon leaving high school

I feel at least 10 years younger than my actual age. My friends are getting married, having kids and buying houses. I'm only just starting to discover I want to party like a teen. :jester: :P

Same for me. I feel about 13 or 14 but I also have sixty years of memories so I'm caught somewhere between the two.

I'm 25, and I feel like my intellect is somewhat above that age but my emotions are childlike, or teenagerish. It's frustratring that people think I'm dumb if I act childhish at times, it's just I have to express emotions too and sometimes they come out like a childs... I also look about 17-18. Couldn't get to a bar without id, and not even with that once cause I look so young.

I can relate to that. I don't smoke or drink but my mom always sends me into the store to buy her cigarettes for her (which I hate doing) and I always get asked for my ID and even when they see my card they still look at me funny or suspiciously because obviously I still look like a kid. I always get the feeling they think I'm an underage teenager with a fake ID or something.

I feel like this a lot of the time, too.

But on the bright side I have found that looking and acting younger than you really are can sometimes be a good thing.

Some people are less likely to hurt you or take advantage of you because of it and they'll even do nice things for you. People tend to want to protect people who seem younger and more innocent out of pity.
