^ 100% in chem test, you swot  I don't think I've seen anyone 100% a test, although I did get 99% in my cycling proficiency when I was 9 (still remember the question I got wrong  )

I've spoken to my GF and you appear to be right, I was special in another way. She thinks I'm getting memories mixed up but she said she was told I did see a therapist when I was young (news to me). I once found my mums contraceptive pills and popped them out of the packaging and pushed them into a vent. Apparently I had to see someone about this and the conclusion was I wanted a sibling. I was 4, didn't know what the birds and bees were or what contraception was. So that's what the memory was of. :jester:

I used to be fascinated by my mother's box of Tampax tampons when I was that age.
I had no idea what they were but I liked the way they were each wrapped in paper like gifts.
Usually when you buy a box of something they don't secret-wrap each thing inside it.

What does that say about me?

Well I was tested and placed in the gifted program in elementary school and then in middle school and high school, I took advanced classes, so I would say I am twice-exceptional.

I would not be surprised if my giftedness is why nearly all of the signs of me being autistic were overlooked because like I remember so often whenever I was struggling in some way (in some ways that are clearly now relating to autism and other times not relating to autism), I was basically told that I shouldn't have these problems because I was 'gifted' and therefore could just deal with them myself.

Like bruh yeah I was in the gifted program and all that jazz but I was also literally still a child??? Being gifted doesn't mean I didn't struggle and have difficulties.

It's like they expect a small child to be able to articulate that they're clearly different from their peers before they'll consider it, but when the kid does, they dismiss it because you're gifted.

It takes years of experience as a weirdo to be certain you're that far-off from others.

And let me tell you having all my problems dismissed because I'm 'gifted' certainly didn't lead to any negative things later on in my life and even today.

(This is very much sarcasm, of course)

I have no idea if I'm twice-exceptional.

I don't think I've ever been fully IQ tested and there weren't any Gifted programs when I was in primary, so I don't know if I'd be considered "Gifted". I'm successful academically, I'm creative, and I have a neurodivergent brain (synaesthesia, etc.) so I think I might be, but who knows?

In contrast, I have an auditory-visual processing delay on my ASD report. I assume that means some sort of learning disability but it doesn't use the term LD.

My daughter is twice-exceptional. She was ID as Gifted when she was 8 or 9, but she also has Dyscalculia and we think possibly Dyslexia as well. She's HFA and ADHD.

Son 1 was ID Gifted in Kindergarten when they gave him the psychoeducational IQ test for fourth graders. He doesn't have any LD as far as I know. He's undiagnosed but most likely (OK quite certainly) an Aspergers personality and OCD.

Son 2 adopted has many LD. I'm not sure about Giftedness but I wouldn't be surprised if he met the criteria in a few areas, despite the fact teachers always saw him as a failure.

I am in no way gifted.

Things are easy for me most people have trouble with and I have difficulty or can not do things that are routine for most.

Well I have a lot of social skills when it comes to romantic/sexual relationships (I've been in a healthy and successful relationship with an NT man for 9 years), but I seem to be crap at making friends with women.
