Never noticed this stare thing.
And I have been to meetings of the local support group - in a room with two dozen other AS folks.
Not saying it doesn't exist. Just that I have never seen it.

not gunna swear to this but think at least some point on the spectrum
if you put a aspie type amongst a buncha NTs , It may or maynot readily appear , as if the person actually is not connected into the rooms interactions amongst NT folk .. it has taken years to master the masting mechanism regarding this ,, surviving yet appearing to be involved in the societal function around us. appearing to be pre¬occupied , like reading a book or appearing to ,
be doing this .. the age of mass communication , cellphones , whatnot,
has allowed this to be a must easier thing to mask . But there are still moments where that does not work . and find myself As if deer in the headlights sort of look . Not sure how to better explain , this instance. sometimes the very act of attempting to distract , can leave one , in a similiar appearing effect. How does any , one, aspie when their mind goes into nuetral,
explain this.
if for no other reason than learned self preservation of itself.
like awaiting specific information input ?or momentary overload.or processing input . Love 21st century , terms used for info processing can be applied to human interactions now . And even understood .
