This quote from Peep Show describes what exactly it's like when I'm reading a book:

"I look at it, I read the words, or think I do, but then I get distracted or I don't quite take it in and I have to go back. I've been on the same four pages for three hours."

I tried. I tried so hard. I haven't touched a book in a year. Only mindless entertainment works for me now.

If it is a scientific book, I can read it fairly fast while retaining most of the information. This summer I read a small (150 page) book on graphene materials in an hour.

Used to be a night for me.

I'm since lockdown trying to completely immerse myself in a book as I read.

Now it takes about 5 days if it's 300 pages.
