What are your thoughts on his voice here, blabbs?
You know a lot more about sound than I do.

Somehow he lost his Scouser accent too.
He sounds Scottish now.

My son and MR both say he changed his bass playing style.

i could not judge tonal quality because of limitations in my computer playback as well as the well-known differences in microphones as well as differences in the media. i could only go on the accent which is certainly different, on his "ai's" and his ["faul's"] hard Rs. there is something fishy there.

It's really, really weird.

Ever since I was five or six years old I listened to my parents' Beatles albums. I'd look at the covers and try to figure out who was who because I'm face blind. After enough staring and learning I could tell who George and Ringo were. Usually John too, even though he lost so much weight. When looking at later LPs like Sgt Pepper or even Let It Be and Abbey Road, I'd look at Paul and be totally confused. Then I didn't know who anyone was anymore. It was like there were five of them and I'd have to start over trying to recognize George and Ringo. Paul didn't look like John so I didn't know who the heck he was. Even at that age I instinctively knew it wasn't him. The whole didn't match the sum of the parts on his face. It's entirely involuntary. I just don't believe it's him.

Another thing: He stopped doing the head bobble and having knocked knees.

This YouTuber says he's dead. I'm not going there or agreeing with that, but some of the stuff in his videos like these photos is really confusing. It messes with my head because the changes don't make sense.

There's an old interview of him in 64 saying he can't do anything with his right hand.
It's on video.
I'll try to dig it up but I can't find it now.

Also the ears at 2:45

I have a sudden compulsion to learn everything there is to know about crop-dusters.

Well...that category of slow moving aircraft known as "crop dusters" includes the last workaday-and-still-built biplanes.

So I guess if you like biplanes you might like crop dusters.

Oh, I've seen those! I was like "That's a recorder?" when I first saw it. Lol. Quite a bizarre design, but if it works it works. I love contrabass instruments!

One hyper-specific interest I can daydream about a lot: Lego Space factions, c.1987-94. Don't have any now, but as a kid I had at least 1 set from each of 7 different colour-coded Space sub-themes, ranging from Futuron (white, black and transparent blue) via M-Tron (red, black and transparent neon green) to Ice Planet (white, blue and transparent orange).

Meerkats. They weren't as popular as they are now back then. Very very few people, even people who claimed to be very interested in animals rarely knew what they were or thought they were a feline cat.

Probabably the most niche, and I'm sure I've written about it here before, is the life of James Whitaker Wright. He was a mining speculator and massive swindler in the late 1800s, who reached the highest echalons of Victorian society. His mining ventures were mostly in the US and Australia but he bought an estate near Guildford in the UK, hired 400 labourers and set about landscaping the living crap out of it. He built some incredible follies including a glass dome on the bottom of a lake bed so he could watch the fish swim around it. Another was a door in a tree which led into a tunnel which corkscrewed down into the ground into a series of underground chambers and a river from which you could access the lake surface. He spent millions of other people's money building a ridiculously opulent mansion with a theatre and an observatory. He filled the grounds with imported Italian sculpture, some of it quite grotesque.
Anyway, his dodgy dealings caught up with him and he was sentanced to jail for fraud. After the sentencing he asked for a moment with his lawyer in a private chamber which was granted and there he swallowed enough cyanide to kill seven men rather than serve his time.

I think I like him because he combines a few of my interests - history and follies, but I'm also interested in what happens when people have too much money - their idiosyncrasies tend to come out in weird ways. I have a similar interest in Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch. And also people who seem to reject the right of society to judge them, that narcissistic excess.

I've bored many people talking about him!
