I think that's wonderful! Knowledge is power and I don't think there are any accidents. Your radar picked up something about your friend and led you on the path to understanding your sons.

I tell people all the time that there is no pill for AS (thank God) or no reason to learn about it other than self awareness. Understanding WHY I'm wired this way was HUGE for me. I can't tell you how big this revelation has been in helping me and my two sons also. Understanding helps others to be a bit more patient, or to help with reminders or workarounds. And life can be much more pleasant. :)

Earthmom, I could not agree with you more. I honestly feel I "knew" about my boys, but was at maximum capacity. And, you are so right about having a new understanding and patience. That doesn't mean it's not frustrating, but knowing why is huge.

I'm curious. What would people assume about me if I hadn't already told everyone whether or not I have AS?

Sinsboldly, who takes time to get to know idividuals and is face blind, asked me if I were NT because of my writing style. I thought that was perceptive. I am NT.

Why do I post here? Initially it was because of my 2 aspie grandsons. But how I wish I had chosen another name because I now stay for myself. I have made some wonderfulf friends.

A message board is a good way to make initial contact because noone is distracted by appearance, voice, quirks etc. I have met two WP members since I have been here, and I have another Queenslander in my sights!!
