I like this one...

It's a pity that some mad mac-wired person (Bill Gates is an aspie) masquerading as an NT (he works for windows) isn't completely destroying the condition that the NT's have and driving everyone to consider being an aspie.

- of course, to be fair it's not Bill Gates destroying windows, it's probably Steve Ballmer or even Ray Ozzie.

Hmmm....this gives me a rather demented idea. Perhaps, noting that Windows and Microsoft pretty much own the tech world, if this could be the beginning of our Aspie quest to rule the world. That really puts things into perspective, doesn't it?

NTs would be reading bad books by candle light if its weren't for Aspies. But then against, maybe even the book and candle was invented by an Aspie.

My father, who is likely to be an aspie also, exhibits his as nerdism.

Are all Aspies introverted though. Some are just not capable of appropiate social interation, but that doesn't mean they like to keep to themselves.

No, I think each Aspie is different. I only gave two examples above, but some are introverts, and some are nerds, and others are someting else.

Spokane_Girl,

18% of those with autism don't communicate; most constantly don't rock/sway, it's usually in response to emotional excitation (good or bad). There's many misconceptions about autism like there is with Asperger's. Most with autism talk, their cognitive pattern is usually more pronounced than someone with Asperger's, but they can talk.

95% of statistics are made up on the spot. And 3/4 of people might believe that 1/2 of respondents to these statistics are going to respond 10% of the time in writting, 80% of the time by telephone, and 63.2% by email. :D

Stereotypical autism isn't "Rain Man". For the most part, the stereotypical presentation [of an adult] is a "normal" looking individual who rarely talks to people in a social setting; this is in stark contrast to the individual with Asperger's who is usually verbose in a social setting.

That's a very good point.

if are dealing with spectrum ignorants, why not call it mild autism [the word mild isn't always accurate but the ignorants understand it well],and when dealing with those who know what they're talking about [to do with ASD] use specifics.
