I don't have a round face. It's oval. I still look young though.

One things would be noticeable in pictures by both NT people and people with AS.

We don't know how to smile. When people smile, they extend the sides of their mouths towards their ears AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Go to a mirror and try it. It feels strange, but that is how NTs smile. None of us to do that. We looked depressed in our pictures. Compare youself in pictures to NT people. Just about all NTs are smiling.

I'm guessing I'm going to piss some people off with this, but it's an honest observation...

When I look through the pics in the "Post a Picture of the Real You" thread, I see a striking similarity among the male pictures, and a different similarity in the female pictures. Or maybe it's the same thing in every picture.

In fact it freaks me out a bit, as it's like looking in a mirror. There is something in the face of many of you that reminds me of me. It's kinda creepy, really.

I think I've heard that aspies have a knack for seeing relationships that NTs can't perceive. So... is it just me, or does anyone else see this relationship in the faces of aspies? I can't even say what it is. Everyone looks quite different... there is just a haunting similarity there somewhere.

I know two autistic people that look like me. My son and daughter  But yeah, there's something, and I think it's more a combination of expression, posture, that sort of thing.

Not all of us.

When my first grade school pictures came out with that odd little aspie smile, I practiced in the mirror 'til I figured out what I was doing wrong.

I always hated my round face (I try to camouflage it with hair). I've seen quite a few aspie chicks who totally rock it though, look absolutely adorable. I'm jealous. B****es.

Nonsense! You have an attractive cranium! Tell me though, are you of Russo-Slavic descent?

I'm still waiting to find out if there's a secret handshake or something...;)

How would you tell? some of us don't stand out in crowds, or try to draw attention to ourselves. Instead, it's more of 'how not to be seen'...;)

You should see my first school picture. I looked like a little turtle or something. Very odd smile. My mom wanted a refund. Never bothered practicing in the mirror, but my smiles for pictures did improve a little after that.

I really never noticed. I generally base an AS DX on behavior.

I will pay more attention next time. What if anything brought you to this idea?

Mostly German (last name Neuner), and a little bit o' Polish.

"My mom wanted a refund"

Hahahaha... I found that really funny.

My mom is just as off as me, and a weirdo-enabler at that, so she convinced me that the picture was fine. But it definitely wasn't. Everyone else told me it was the most fake smile they'd ever seen.

I'm going to associate you with a little turtle whenever I see you around WP, now :P

Yep, 3 grandparents are German, and my paternal grandmother is German and Polish.

Sometimes I actually just tell people I'm full-blooded German and lie about the Polish part :x

Being mostly face-blind...most people look the same too me. Or at least in my memory they do. When I compare people side by side I can see the differences, but in memory everyone has quite a neutral either "male" or "female" facial appearance...accompanied with their different hair styles, body types, and styles of dress.
