I've had many panic attacks over the past few years, mostly related to sensory issues. In my junior year of high school I had attacks almost every day. Fortunately panic attacks are very rare now that I'm in therapy.

To anyone who only thinks they've had a panic attack I would say that you haven't because if you've had one you don't need to ask anyone, you know.

You can feel panicky and het up and loads of other feelings but an actual full-blown panic attack leaves no doubt.

I have been officially diagnosed with GAD, so I get it a lot! I start hyperventilating and rocking back and forth. I get it all the time. If I am not in a familiar situation, you can see me either shut down and stay quiet or start freaking out.

I've had too many to count. I think everyone, Aspie or NT, has had a panic attack, but NTs stop having them at some point as young children, while many Aspies keep having them for a longer time.

The way I found out about Asperger's was because I had a panic attack. I had recently fought off non Hodgkins Lymphoma (Stage 4), with chemo and Rituxan. The chemo left a mark... and then I had shingles a couple of years later... it was across my trigminal nerves in my face, and into my nose. That hurt trust me. A month later I had a panic attack and later I Googled it... I thought I probably had PSTD, and I started reading in the DSM. After a bit I took some online tests, and "you are probably an Aspie" came up.
