In a way I brush 3-4 times a day now. The dentist told me that each time that I brush with toothpaste that I also have to dry brush them. And yes, I try to floss as many times as possible. Some days I totally forget but other days it could be 4 times in one day. And guess what? I have the worst teeth in the world no matter what I try to do. I have so many cavities but it isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. My brother who never brushes his teeth has 30 cavities since we haven't been to the dentist in 4 years and we just went a few weeks ago. I used to only brush once a day and came out with 18 cavities after not being to the dentist in 4 years. And another thing I do is grind my teeth, have a dry mouth at times and the dentist said it looks like I have acid reflux disease so that means no matter what I do (I could brush 500 times a day) and I will still will have a huge amount of cavities. Since I grind during the day, the dentist told me about this special gum that I have to chew so I don't grind. I don't know if I grind during the night as well. My teeth are horrible and I thought I was going to have 37 cavities when I went to the dentist a few weeks back and needed pulled teeth and root canals. At least at this point it doesn't look like I need any of that except a lot of fillings. My first appointment for fillings is tomorrow. How fun. There are a few teeth that have HUGE cavities so hopefully he takes care of those ones first. Then I have a lot of small ones throughout my mouth. My brother deserved the 30 cavities because he hasn't brushed in 4 years!! !! I'm surprised that he has teeth left! But now the dentist scared him to death so I think he brushes now but only once a day and flosses once a day. I have so many reasons why I have so many cavities and I mentioned it earlier. My teeth have always been bad. Usually worse than my brother's but this time he got it worse than me and I believe that is the first time that has happened. There have been times where my brother (when we were going every 6 months) didn't brush in those 6 months and didn't get ANY cavities and yet I at least try to take care of my teeth and I ended up with several cavities anyways in that short period of time. How fun is that?

I would have bad teeth even if I was a model brusher. Genetic anomaly or something. :\
I did learn that the medicine I take caused me to get dry mouth and I didn't know it until I got cavities along the gum line. Now I have to swish water in my mouth anytime I eat or drink to compensate for the lower levels of saliva produced.

I am so obsessed with my teeth being clean. Not only do I brush the gums thoroughly at least twice a day with an Oral B spinning tooth brush, I also use a paroxa brush coated with a tiny amount of toothpaste between each tooth at least once a day and I use Listerine at least twice a day. I have plastic toothpicks with minute spiny bristles on one end. I have a metal tartar pick that I use to make extra sure all the icky plaque is removed daily from my gum line. I also have an eternal supply of breathmints.

I make a habit of getting my teeth cleaned twice a year too. I never have a cavity when the dentist checks them and the hygienist tells me I take excellent care of my teeth and gums.

I brush my teeth 3 or 4 times a day. I hardly ever floss.

My mom complains I brush too hard. Which I do

Not Fair

:albino:

Eh, *smack smack*, what's up doc?

Educating the world ain't gonna do a lick of good. Takes someone who WANTS to know the truth to actually find it. Have any of my suggestions been respected, or actually thought about? Of course not, they're ignored-until half a year later some smart guy thinks he's got a bright idea-only I had it long before he even thought about it... What can I say, I'm only a carpenter...

I've a feeling your son would understand the reasons behind not giving him energy drinks tho, you've mentioned before that he's a smart chap. He should "get" it.

Oh wow, I have this hangup too...I carry soft picks and floss swords around with me in my purse and I HAVE to clean my teeth immediately after eating. I only brush twice per day, but I floss and pick my teeth thoroughly after every meal.

I have a real hangup about plaque on my teeth because I can't stand the feel of it. I clean my teeth 4 or 5 times each day because of that. Once I have eaten I feel compelled to clean my teeth before I do anything else, even washing up, because the feel of anything on them is so awful.

So, how often do you clean your teeth and does anyone else have this problem?

Also do you enjoy the feel of cleaning your teeth and are you very particular about which toothpaste you use, do you find the taste of a certain brand horrible or nice?

Wow 4-5 times a day!

I always forget to clean mine, I just get too distracted with other things. Also I lost the charger for the toothbrush - I can't believe I spent £80 on a Philips Sonic Care toothbrush then lost the charger within a week! Mind you considering the state of my bedroom that's not suprising (Kim & Aggie would be taking early retirement if they ever came in!)

Brushing my teeth kinda comes and goes, but I hate doing it... sometimes I will go a fortnight without cleaning... :? I use mouthwash though (clove flavour) and I do drink a lot of green tea, though - I never knew it was good for that :)

I've been lucky enough to only need two fillings, and they threatened me with a crown on my chipped front tooth after I fell off a climbing frame, shortly after it grew in. I refused though, and it stopped being sensitive after a while. I have a wisdom tooth coming in just now though that might need removed because there's no room for it, the tooth above is already biting down on it and it's not fully through yet. I really hope I get to keep it because I am so scared of needles I had my last filling done without anaesthetic. (it's coz I had stitches in my lip when I was a kid after an accident with a swing. My mum fainted, which didn't help) They'd have to knock me out for a wisdom tooth, I'm sure... :(

Oh yeah - Sora, I don't know if you have Lush in your country but they do a vanilla toothpaste and a sandalwood toothpaste. At least, they used to... It's kind of expensive, but might be worth it?

Every few months. :eew:
I know I should brush my teeth for health reasons, but:
1) I don't like doing it.
2) I don't like the taste of toothpaste and the taste stays in my mouth for a long time.
3) I always forget to do it because it's not part of my everyday routine and/or I'm distracted by other things...

On average twice a day, though occasionally I'll fall asleep at night before I get around to it.

As a kid never if I could help it. As an adult once a day at night so I have to deal with the horrible taste for as little time as possible.
