Why do I feel inferior to everyone else?

I do too. And the worst thing I'm realising at this point, is that I try to pretend that it's not happening (inside of my brain) when I talk to people (or like Aspie1, just walk past a group of people). It's like no matter how accomplished I become professionally, I'm still paranoid that I'll be "outed" as a loser at any moment.

I don't think I understood what a toll this hiding had taken until very recently. I'm working on healing by re-reading the Harry Potter book 3, the one where Harry goes back in time to save himself.
