What are physical health problems that go with Asperger's?

I'm perfectly healthy. Somewhat physically unaware/uncoordinated, but still in categorically good shape since I exercise and eat good.

I used to get chest pains a few years back, but I doubt that was to do with my AS.

I itch a lot which can be a handicap- possibly hypersensitivity.

For me it's: sleep disorder, reflux disease and IBS. Took meds for the IBS but they caused my vision to blur so badly I had to stop them. Can't see the connection but when I stopped the meds my eyesight cleared up.

I was quite sickly as a child---allergies, and I tended to get whatever was going around like the flu, colds, and viruses. I guess I had low resistence to illnesses. In 1972 I remember getting the Hong Kong Flu. Today, I still have troubles with seasonal allergies. Today I have psoriasis, which I have heard from some sources is kind of common with people on the autistic spectrum. I have an irregular heartbeat, which I have had since my teen years---possibly earlier. In 2004 I had back surgery which led to a blood clot in my right leg which led to a pulmonary embolism---very painful.

As a child I had to be put in corrective shoes because one of my knees was turning inward. Also as a child one side of my sternum bone stuck out further than the other side. The doctor said it was because of allergies, but I have never read anything about that happening to children with allergies. As I got older, it diminished in noticeability. When I was in high school and college I used to get a lot of canker sores in my throat and mouth---the doctor did a blood test and said I had an iron deficiency.

I was always in and out of hospital with asthma as a kid but as I got older it was controlled by medication. I take Becotide twice a day and have a salbutamol inhaler which I rarely need to use. Having said that, I don't do much exercise beyond cycling and long-distance walking.

Seconded. And I suffer too.

There is some vague references I have found to the relationship between Autism and the THyroid.

I came across the idea when researching for my enlarged thyroid(goiter).......not sure of the science.

I also have terrible sleep, digestive and bowel problems, and scoliosis.......terrible hip problems and all sorts of stuff.....

Not sure if it has anything to do with anything.

I'm 51. I've never had a health problem. Don't know what a headache is, no digestive system ailments, nothing. As I get older, I don't sleep too well or very long, but I'm not ready to call that a sleep disorder yet.

Hypoglycemia caused by low levels of Cortisol (due to too much stress and Adrenals not working properly). Thyroid Disease (overactive as a kid, now underactive). Eczema. Asthma. Sleep problems. High blood pressure. Post nasal drip.

You don't know what a headache feels like? Not even a hangover? I'm jealous.

Physical problems I have include: eczema, bumpy skin (not eczema related) flat feet with the toe growing inward, IBS, hayfever, dysmenorrhea (very painful period pain), and I have difficulty sleeping.

I also have to eat really plain foods or I'll get a stomach ache. I can't drink orange juice at all.

I do admit that I drink alcohol in excess and can get very ill, like pain all over my body. Yes I know it's bad.

Besides sleep problems if that counts, I can't say I've ever had any health problems. I'm very lucky considering my siblings have had considerable health problems.

I think I might have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome that hasn't been diagnosed, which explains why I'm napping half the time, despite getting at least 7 hours of sleep.

I've been wondering about my problem with fatigue my whole life. At this point the thing that makes the most sense to me is while I can handle being out there and dealing with society, it wears me down because I have to actively work at it. I can remember wishing I could be Sleeping Beauty as a little girl so I could sleep for a hundred years and I doubt I had chronic fatigue back then. I have to take a nap after running errands and if I work more than 6 hours I fall asleep on the couch when I get home.

Contact dermatitis, Coeliac disease, asthma, depression etc. etc.

Nope, I gave up drinking because it makes me sick before I've been able to drink enough to get a hangover.

I realized that this might be unusual, so I started a thread in Random Discussion to ask if anyone else has never had a headache.

I live in a state of constant nausea. No idea what it could be, but if I'm awake, I'm pretty much nauseated all the time.
