When some people hear I'm a comedian and I have asperger's they say "I didn't know someone who's autistic could have a sense of humor" and I say "I didn't know you were so incredibly stupid and close-minded."
They get mad for some reason
Because you called them a name and you were putting them down. No one likes to be put down. Whoever says they don't care what people call them, I don't believe them. They may have learned to ignore it and not let it bother them but that doesn't mean they like it.
I didn't really say that It was potential joke I was testing out on WP
Actually that is the kind of "jokes" I do make, I think it depends a lot on delivery because I am saying is so casually...like commenting on noticing that it was a nice day....It may not get a laugh from the person I am talking about but it always does from the other people around. I think these kind of comments actually saved me from being picked on more when I was a kid.
The other kind of humor I would use was self depreciating....nobody could insult me better then I could myself and it seems to let people relax because I just said what they were probably thinking(and maybe feeling guilty for thinking.). I can't "tell a joke" to save my life though....I'm the king of person who gets half way through and forgets the punch line....(we are legion
)
I do think that not having much facial expression and seldom laughing does give people the idea that I'm stuffy/mature/serious and when I say something they always seem to take it seriously....you can have a lot of fun with that
