some of those questions do not consider all possibilities. So my fantasy should be higher and my empathic should be lower

Well, I distrust the results, because I don't think the questions are clear enough. And there's not enough.

In other news, I appear to fit the female range, except for the part about breaking down due to it, where I fit the male range.

I find empathy really interesting... in my head I figured there was 2 kinds so this interesting to me. However, I feel like I need to fully understand what they mean by these 4 kinds.

I got Fantasy 13, Perspective Taking 22, Empathic concern 24, personal distress 7

I really think a lot of the fantasy ones were the questions about fictional characters, and I'm the type who just thinks it's a waste of time trying to understand a fictional character. And, I think scoring low in personal distress is a good thing cause those are the people who don't stand there with their mouths hanging open in shock in times of emergencies. Someone's got to call 911. It's usually me. But my Aspie daughter has found the finger paint and her brain is a little stuck on getting to do that, so I will have to come back to this when I have more time to think and analyze. Sorry to put down what I was thinking for you all to see cause I know nobody cares, but this is my way of making my journal so I can come back later and resume where my mind left off. It's so tough being Aspie myself as a parent, but I'm learning to put my special interest on a shelf on a whim.

I have been in emergency situations, worked in an Emergency Department for many years; my ability to remain calm in many different situations was very helpful.

Huh. I would have gotten the results, but I never trust a site that insists on sending the results to my email. Can you say, "Spam trap?" Maybe not the case with this site, but I'd rather not thank you. Not when there are plenty of other sites that give the results right on the site, with no email required. Have had too many bad experiences with that.

I wasn't too impressed with the questions themselves either. Too many of them were too similar. How many times to I need to say I keep my cool in emergencies. No offense to those of you who took this one, but does anyone know of others like it, that don't require my email? Maybe with better questions?

The topic does interest me.

I know this might have nothing to do with this topic, but I'm terrible at reading faces. There are so many emotions that I can see in just an eye, so therefore I only choose what reflects on my face...then again, people can be good at faking emotions (I'm not; I hate to fake myself).

It gives you the results in a pop-up. It creates an outgoing email to the person running the survey after another click on the screen with your results. You don't have to click send on that email.

Great, as usual I "failed". I don't really feel that way but I guess I really am inhumane.

lostD, it's okay... Your scores are only a bit below average.

Fantasy: 19
Perspective-taking: 9
Empathic Concern: 28
Personal Distress: 10

For me, the somewhat low score in perspective-taking is misleading: it used to happen automatically for me, but pain would occur concomitantly, (thankfully) blocking it out. I didn't think of the pain as personal distress, though, as cognitive function was (otherwise) relatively unimpaired. I have since been correcting the tendency to automatically take perspectives, and I suspect that, paradoxically, it will be easier for me to take perspectives in the future because of this.
