hmm, I'd suppose I would be okay as long as, there was no Witch-Hunting like persons around or within the community I was living in at the time. Still, one can't say how you would fair in past times.. personally, If there was a chance to go into another time period then I'd prefere American Northwest 1840's-1860's cause there was very few people and existence would be okay..

I would have written a gothic novel similar to Frankenstein and used my intelligence to distract people from my problems. I'd probably end up committing suicide like Virginia Woolf did or something unfortunate.

yup...most of the choices you have now wouldn't exist in the distant past.

Odds on, you'd be a farmer, peasant, serf, etc. Social mobility was practically non-existent. Your father would have been a farmer, as well as your son. The idea that you could be anything else would be foreign to you.

You'd likely be dead if you were my age (50) of old age. That's why people married at 13; you didn't have that much time left.

You'd have a thousand different ways of dying, from cholera, measles (ask the Romans), Plauge, etc.

I had cancer in my 20s, I'd certainly be dead.

I'd probably be known as Pakled the Simple, turning peasants into newts (well, they get better...;)

If I had been born long before the internet became mainstream enough for sites like WP, I likely would've committed suicide during my early adult years.

I would have been burned at the stake as a witch.

LOL! Yes it's obvious the Catholic church in the middle ages would have mistook signs of schizophrenia, bipolar or ASD as demonic possession.

I'd also hate to think what would have happened to Aspies if they were born in ancient Sparta or to a tribe of vikings. Sometimes reminiscing about how great historical periods were we forget that Aspie people who thought/act differently would not have been welcome anywhere.

Prehistory: no one would have noticed nor cared
(skipping a lot of centuries)
Under the Roman empire: forcibly closed in a house
Middle ages: burned alive as a witch or exorcised
From after the middle ages to early 20th century: closed in an asylum being studied by "experts" who were crazier than me

I was born pigeon-toed (the medical term was Bilateral Metatarsus Primus Varus). The problem was corrected when I was as an infant.

In an early century, the problem likely would not be "fixable". As such, I imagine I would have been left out in the field to die.

I've always wondered what I would be like if I was a child in world war 2. My grandparents say that they were kids during the second world war and they thought it was fantastic and didn't see the seriousness of it like the adults did. But I know that if I was a kid in the second world war, I bet I would be extremely anxious about the bombings and losing my family, etc.
