Meddling meds topic

No. No legal/illegal mood altering substance use here.

Except for those vaccinations!

I was on Toprol, Effexor, Adderall and Invega (which was for anti-anxiety primarily).

I'm now on Toprol, Effexor and Adderall.

I've been off of the Invega for nearly a month now and I'm okay. I think that once I figured out what it was like to be more relaxed, I was able to learn how to achieve that status on my own. That, and I got a weighted vest. :)

150 to 200 mg of Seroquel every evening (without that I simply cannot sleep or sleep very badly)
Other than that I have Frenactil but rarely use it, and Xanax which I use frequently to avoid panic attacks when I least want them (I mainly take Xanax prior to going to events I look forward to, but always carry one with me just in case...)

I am on Fluoxetine HCL (SSRI). It is for anxiety and depression. I just started taking it so I don't know how much it will help yet.

Nothing. I get depressed for valid reasons and have anxiety. I only tried a few meds as a teenager but I hate any change in my brain. I have my own methods to deal with things I guess.

No.

I might have been prescribed something for "emergency situations" back when I was having frequent meltdowns during marching band practices, but I never actually took any. I ended up quitting marching band and kept my stress levels down through a combination of moderate exercise and something that resembled cognitive therapy, except without the therapist.

The bottom line is that I'm rather paranoid about chemical alterations to my thought process. Partly because I enjoy being who I am, and partly because I don't want to be dependent on something I could potentially loose access to.

Yup, I'm forced to. I'm supposed to take it for anxiety and concentration. Both of them DO NOT work for me and my perscriber and parents fail to see that, even when I tell them. XD

Cipralex. Started when I just couldn't take the anxiety and sadness anymore, which are caused by the total social (and therefore occupational too) failure. I live in a scary world, so I need the meds to create an illusion of minimal safety. I despise having to take them, and wish my life improved a bit so I didn't need the illusion.
