That 3-letter word is something I personally consider useless and weird.

I never hear the people who say that even in everyday life laugh. I wonder if they can't laugh like everybody else anymore? If it's not funny, why say you're laughing out loud? Is it just 'cool' to say, I wonder?

I think it's quite annoying to hear people say it.

I used to feel the same way whenever I saw it.

But then I wanted to convey that I actually WAS L'ingOL - whence my contempt for it evaporated.

Soon you too my child, will come to this understanding.

I LOL, but also hehe for a bit of variety  Quietly funny is lol. (A gentle laugh) But things I find very funny, rather than just plain funny, gets LOLZ! The extra Z=about as funny as it can get.
I don't like ROFLMAO and have never used it. I've never been detached from my A. lol.

My name is droopy and I'm a lol-aholic. Ok, well, I wouldn't say I over use it but I do use it inappropriately considering I hardly ever laugh out loud. I even find it annoying myself to see it sometimes and yet, I still use it. Like for when I find something even somewhat amusing then I do the "lol" just to let others know I'm not being all smug about what I'm saying. Hope I'm making sense here. (Now, in this case where I say "Hope I'm making sense here" I might put "lol" after it because even though saying "Hope I'm making sense here" isn't "lol" funny at all, if I'm not making sense then to me it might be "lol" funny to me.) The bottom line is, I have a strange way of thinking and shouldn't use "lol" but I still do and just don't think about it when I do. So I'm sorry to those who it annoys, I really don't mean for it to do that.

I only use LOL in inappropriate ways ;) I often use it to mock people who use it, especially since 99% of the time, they really are not laughing out loud. My brother used to type "lol" at me from the other room and I'd hear silence and say "liar". I also sometimes use it to emphasize the fact that something, in fact, is not really funny at all.

Like if someone says a really terrible joke, I'll reply "OMGLOLOLOLOLOL!! !"

Sometimes we'll even say it in Real Life...either as L-O-L, or pronounce it "loll".

Thought I was engaged in some good-humoured banter when all of a sudden some humourless **** kicks me in the knuts.

I think you're one of those that proves my point.

Unless you're just anti-MemberSix because his views are different from yours.

Spiteful little **** !

No, make that Sneaky, spiteful little **** !

I assume you're still trying to be funny?

I don't know you well enough for me to be able to tell whether or not you're serious. Sorry.

My native language not being English, I've never felt like using LOL. I find it a silly substitute for real comment. However, I do know some guys who say LOL in real conversations. It always makes me want to slap them.

It could be that aspies are a little more pedantic....

It irks me that a lot of people put LOL when I'm sure they aren't.

If I put LOL then I actually AM LOL.

Hence, I'd never write ROTFL because I can't see myself doing that over a forum - especially not at work... In fact, I don't think I've done that ever - except when tickled.

Talking about pedantic, it excludes quite a number of people who are no familiar with these abbreviations. I taught myself internet and use pc and still am puzzled with these abreviations.I actually putop a topic here called abbrviations which has been ignored.

So, come of your pedestal all you cybercitizens and explain me all those shortcuts. It is not easy to read your posts if one can't read them, annoying enough to read huge blocks of posts without space between paragraphs.
It makes a gap between the younger guard of elitist netizens and the novices (older generations)

Hehe, don't need to man. Never watched that movie, just know that's the name of the movie it came from, for some odd ass reason! Got it looped in right now, that game just keeps playing the song over and over, even when I've stopped playing. I especially enjoy that intro. Reminds me of something I can't quite put my finger on. :?

It, like a lot of Rock songs reminds me of the American Great Plains and the cultural notes about there; from Truckers, Biker Gangs, the plains and clouds, 'Tornado Alley', US/NATO/NORAD missile bases and the like, Those 50s style Diners, etc.

Almost nothing about "Small Towns" now that I look at it, mainly the "masculine" things about the area and the "Born to be Wild" and Rebellion parts of the area. LOL.
