Yeah! And I keep telling my dog that he's a cousin of the wolf, but he don't seem to understand.
This one is deep.

Yeah I notice that people like to talk about their IQ on here, but I don't think they're necessarily trying to brag annoyingly or something. I've gotten frustrated with this site a couple of times but I also find good in it too. You can IM me if you want to talk.

By the same reasoning, intelligence without action is a dead intelligence. You could be the smartest person in the world, but if you never apply that towering intellect in a practical way, you may as well be brain-dead.

I hope you stick around. I like smart people no matter if they brag or not. No point in being weird if you aren't smart! Furthermore, I have known only 2 real actual geniuses in my life. I am not one. They were really off the hook. One was 15 in university and the other was working on his second PhD at 19.

NEITHER would trade one IQ point for an EQ point. I am not a genius, but I would not either. So what if I am in my room tracing Euclidian circles and no one knows? I would know. And I would love it. :nerdy:

EQ, to me, is nothing. Useless.

But that is just me and I resepct those in here who feel differently. :salut:

Indeed. I'm surrounded by doctors all day where I work. I'm sure most of them have very high IQ's, but face them with a common sense problem? Forget about it. Half the time they can't even read a sign saying "Do not walk" and are unable to comprehend its meaning. Kind of like that Farside Gallery picture of the kid at the School for the Gift thats pushing on the door when it says "Pull".

I don't know if that really relates to anything.....

It's kind of difficult if not impossible to apply your iq towards something positive when you are socially ret*d and have difficulties communicating your ideas.

If someone on here is putting you down and claiming you aren't good enough in comparison to their brilliance and high IQ, that would be a reasonable response to lashing out but it seems paranoid that YOU are the one putting words into others mouths by claiming what their intent is which is to bring you down.

Whatever. Not all aspies have mensa IQ's and frankly, I don't buy into IQ tests showing how intelligent someone really is.

People who have loads of arrogance just may be narcissistic depending on if they are arrogant and putting others beneath them.

For whatever it's worth, I agree with you about the significance of that IQ baloney.

Human intelligence is complex, it takes a lot of forms and involves a lot of different things. Anybody who thinks it can be measured on a linear scale with a single variable is an idiot.

IQ has as much to do with the quality of intelligence as Top Forty has to do with the quality of music.

mosez, it took me years to find a few people I can connect with here. I still feel like an outsider.

But some I can connect with. Even if we butt heads over Linux vs Windows vs OSX, I like those guys in the computer area. Sweet sinsboldly has a heart of gold too, and a wicked sense of humour. For you, it may be other people, but I'm betting someones around that will fit your aesthetics.

Remember that connecting with someone doesnt mean sunshine and everyones farts smelling like roses. If you find topics where you just have to butt in, well, thats a connection. If someone seems to follow you from topic to topic, seemingly just to annoy you, well, there must be a bridge connecting both of you.

Stick around. Its a different sort of place after all.

Yeah, I managed to get quite a string over that frustrated post. I think I'll cool out and check this site out from time to time. I have found a lot of answers to many strange things about myself here. I have also got at least one private friend here too, so basicly things are cool.
I have this black and white thinking, to a certain degree. I'll try not to blow out again.

I don't even look at the IQ-related threads, but mosez's frustration kind of reminds me of some of my own experiences in art school. Y'know, when it seems like ultimately bull-puckey makes the world go round? I think it's probably one of those AS-prone states of mind.
