I paid $300 for someone to be my friend with benefits for an hour (just to clarify, this refers to escorts). High-end escorts treat their clients with genuine (or very realistic) affection, so it feels amazingly real. They really knew how to make me feel like friend, although I was aware of the business nature of it. I usually see each escort only once or twice, but I read stories about rich clients who see one many times, for months on end, and develop a friendship of sorts as a result (although I'd call it more of a business relationship).

Things are quite simple, in terms of money I can tell you exactly what I would pay someone to be my friend..... 0 US$, of £ 0.00 or 0.00 euros.

But if someone is a good friend of mine then I will value them and treat them well. Maybe some of you might try to put a price on that, I can not fix a price on a good friendship but I guess that it would be expensive.

Suppose that there is a person who sells his "friendship" for money and plays the role so masterfully well you'd have a hard time not believing that his friendship is real. He'll be your friend and he'll be there for you as long as you give him money.

I argue that if it's ok to pay to have sex with a prostitute, it is also ok to pay this person to be your friend. His friendship will not be real, but he is such a grandiose actor you'll be totally deceived.

BINGO!

Two good second choices might be your local bartender or religious leader. Both are willing to listen to you as long as they know you are going to give them more money for their time.

Paying for friends?
Then they're not friends.
Don't ask me what friends ARE, I can't tell you. But I certainly can tell you what they aren't...
