My parents had to hide tools from me so I wouldn't take other people's things apart! Every once in a while, someone would give me something so could take it apart and it was like Christmas morning! I loved keeping the interesting components and would carry them around with me and play with them.

I do...

Tried it with a person once... worst experience ever. Joints seem to be really rigid.

There was times that I wanted to do something like that, but never tried to. It's a tad hard for me to get into things that I like.

Yeah, I used to do that a lot when I was a kid. I was very curious about how things worked. Then, I got my first XT computer and just had to open it up to see how it worked. I pulled it apart and successfully put it back together again. 30 something years later and I'm still building and fixing them.

The only thing I would never touch was a TV. Those things used to store killer voltages even after being turned off for long periods of time.

If I see anything that can be taken apart then I will take it apart. I love to see how things are put together and how they work. I can't visualise it so I just get stuck in and take it apart. This gets me into trouble a fair bit at college but I feel compelled like I am driven to do it. I always put the things back together. Does anyone else do this? Is this anything to do with AS?

I do. I was actually really happy when my daughters Giraffe broke. It was a musical one that had its head moving around when the music played. As soon as I found out it was broken, I cut it open and pulled it apart. Unfortunately the box is hard to open, so I havent seen the inside. Instead, it has become a stimming tool. Now it makes an awesome soothing noise when I spin the stick inside the box.

Definitely love taking things apart, my wife wonders why I keep broken things in my shed, they're there to take apart!!

Fixing things around the house often involves taking things apart - a good tip is take photos of the things before you take them apart and then you can see how they go back together again.

I don't because of bad motor skills. But my cousin, who it turns out might be on the spectrum, is famous for it.
