Yeah. If you use big words and speak precisely and formally, people will think you are a great deal more intelligent than you actually are.

Geek, on drugs, drunk, pothead, depressed, cruel, recluse, loner, and rude

Today I got confused. I spoke over someone in a conversation because I needed to borrow a math book from another class. The teacher said I was rude. I didn't know it was that bad.

The never ending, never goes away, I f*****g hate it label:

Drama queen.

Goes with the hypersensitivity to.... everything.

Just now it happened when my mom and brother were in the kitchen and she turned on the water. I can't bear the sound of running water from our pipes because they squeak so much and I made this little noise and my mom mimicked it. She usually tells me to "shut the f**k up"

If I had shown these signs when I was younger, instead of primarily being non verbal (by choice, not from lack of ability), I wonder if I would have been beaten.

Hmmm.....

People think I am from Australia, New Zealand, or Africa. I think it's funny that people always think this, yet the Australians never think this.

mistaken for, eh? Depressed, bored, the usual. When I was about 15 or 16, many many people thought I was younger, say 12... I never was good at deciphering age

Someone once thought I was Norwegian.

Haha! Someone once thought I was Swedish because I did not talk in class (so I must be foreign and unfamiliar with English... k) and look very white. Jag inte är svensk!
In addition: shy, crazy/serious mental issues, genius, boring, lacking personality, easy target. The misunderstandings are amusing most of the time.

ret*d, that's the #1.

Otherwise, stupid, non-understandable, and of course, wierdo.

No one really puts genetic crap into the equation, do they?

I've heard "autistic" flung at me as an insult by someone who didn't know (I think).

I have been called a ret*d ("mouth breathing window licker" was my favorite slur), a schizophrenic and a sociopath before.

I am not a sociopath, but I do have a few aspects of it that seem to go beyond simple Asperger's.

My teacher had a meeting with my mum. It was when I was 7. To tell her I was ret*d. Because I would not respond or look at her. It was nearly impossible to get my attention. I would just stare at the wall. I barely spoke. The speaking I did do was unintelligible. At lunch time i sat out side and picked grass. I would pick it and watch it float then pick more. I am not ret*d. Lots of people made that mistake. In high school it was the school councilors. I took a long time to respond if I did. When I did it was usually to say the same sentences over and over. I was not diagnosed with autistic disorder until after school. It made lots of trouble at school with wrong diagnosis.

Now that I am not a child I get mistaken as ret*d still. And insane.

ADHD
rude
on drugs
stupid (how'd that happen?)
arrogant
cocky
conceited
depressed
lazy
selfish
angry
a troublemaker
ret*d

as for weird/odd: I am, so it's not a mistake (and I'm pretty sure most of [or all of] the people who have listed it actually are weird/odd. Weird = fantastic; bizarre. Odd = differing in nature from what is ordinary, usual, or expected.)
