You could even ssay that if you are on the spectrum you are living an alternative lifestyle regardless.

autisn is not an exclusive club or anything and we do all share traits and interests that a lot of NT's share as well.

Yes, but bundle all the traits together and you have an alternative lifestyle. How many NTs have to suffer through sensory issues, or deal with sensory overload? How many of them can't eat their favourite food because they have a non allergy issue with it? How many NTs have enough traits bundled together to call themselves ASDers? ASDers live an alternative lifestyle because of the number of traits we have to deal with on a regular basis. some of these traits are good, some not so good.

Our differences are minor compared to our shared traits.

I plan on getting rich; however, that plan is moving slowly. On the bright side, it is moving just really slow--REALLY slow.

Beyond that, I'd like to write a book but not sure on what. I think I'd like to write a book that is critical yet, geared in a positive direction on Christianity based on my various "theories" that I have on things.

I also want to:

- purchase a motorcycle--a Ducati Monster 696 to be exact.
- build a PC inside of a briefcase
- sky dive
- basejump (maybe, still thinking about that one)

It would be also quite interesting if I could manage to contribute some sort of philosophical contribution to society or some such. I absolutely love thinking and just, "coming up with stuff" so to speak.

Don't give up. slow moving stuff can pay off over time. I wish you luck on your endeavors.

I'd like to publish a novel, write an autobiography, go to medical school and become a child nuerologist specializing in neurodevlopmental disabilities, open my own practice, read a lot, listen to a lot of music, find some way to cope with my anxiety so it isn't running my life anymore, keep my grades high

I'd also someday have a house with a pretty view, and is peaceful and quiet.

Everybody says we're shallow, withdrawn, unimaginative, timid, afraid and unmotivated. Is that really a true description of our goals and ambitions? From what we've seen here it sure isn't.
Can you imagine if only half of us reach even a quarter of our goals what it would mean for other people we've never even met?

Well, I can be shallow but definitely not withdrawn and most definitely not unimaginative (maybe too much). Somewhat timid, not afraid of endeavors that might end in failure (but I am of dogs, swimming in murky water and the dark) and my motivation exists, it's just erratic and hard to keep in one direction for long periods of time.e t

I actually started coming here back in 06 but was terrified to make more than one or two posts. It seemed like each topic was dominated by certain posters who tried to control or distort what you could say and it was very intimidating. It's much better now since people can honestly say what they think and what they aspire to and not be held down by sterotypes.

I'm pretty new to this--diagnosed within the last few months--so I wouldn't know stereotypes if they hit me in the face. :)

Is what you said recently the stereo type, or is there something more?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to die before any of this happens but:

Get my Drivers license (well..this will probably be what kills me...)
Become an awesome Pediatric Neurologist
Have a best friend.
Understand life.
Understand death.

That's interesting the specialist that Diagnosed me comes off as possibly being under the spectrum, but coping very well... He is the specialist I work with, unfortunatly he is retiring, and is the leading specialist in the area.

I have big plans for the future but I am at this moment keeping those to myself.
