I don't really like having pictures of me on internet forums... that's it really. Well, that and I thought the fish was kinda cool :) probably says something about my general level of connectedness to reality or something - I could try analysing it but I'd be lying.

My avatar spells it out. Quite literally.

Wolves are my favorite animal and they've been my obsession since I can remeber myself.

I don't like posting pictures of myself online. It makes me feel uneasy to know that strangers can see what I look like.

Not Darth Avatar topic

Mine is related to one of my interests (Guess who?).

At my age (54) I am no longer cute and cuddly like lions, wolves, anime, insects, objets d'art, etc.
I look so ordinary that I would be less interesting/noticeable than a tick on a clock. :P

I'm starting to form a theory about avatars.
Could it be that people use a cartoonish or graphic avartar so they don't have to see their own faces associated with their posts?
Could it be because of vanity and ego and wanting to adopt a persona that they think is better than they are in real life?
It's interesting that people post a real picture in the picture threads but still use a graphic as an avatar.
What does ones avatar have to say about the person who adopts it?
Tell us about your avatar if you want to.
Who else has a theory about it?

i have mine as it is because i have been too interested in other things to put up my real face.
my avatar says a lot about how i feel in the presence of other people.

This one pretty much is expressing my delight at going to see Twilight.

I like symbols and logos. Mine represents my username and is easily recognisable.

I would change it more often, but I find it confusing when others do that with theirs so I don't want to confuse people by changing mine.

I guess the problem I´ve always had with my real face is that I´m not sure my face really expresses who I am inside. I always felt mismatched somehow...can´t really explain it, but I also had the impression people misjudged me for much of my life, based on my look. So I chose an avatar that I thought matched my personality better, unlike my real face. I also chose an avatar from here, which sort of matched my Username of Morgana. And I chose that Username because I was fascinated with Goddesses right before I (recently) became fascinated with Asperger´s Syndrome. I actually wanted to use the name "Artemis", as she is my token Goddess, but that name was taken. I could have also chosen Hecate, she´s also a pretty cool Goddess....

But I like the idea of avatars. I have trouble sometimes remembering faces, but I can remember a visual avatar so well. And, as there aren´t SO many faces on Wrong Planet, I remember all the faces too. But if this were an internet site with just our real faces with every post, I would have you all confused something awful! (It would be like life....arrrgghh). So, this works well for me.

didnt know avatars said anything about users, theyre just pictures of something to make an account different from another,as without them, all seem the same.
am have always used this photo of biscuit as an avatar on wp,like her more than anything, have got it saved on several computers in case all the avatars on wp got deleted/corrupted.

My avatar is a shrinked version of my favorite wall paper of all time. Full size it is amazing. Also, it reminds me of my brother since his computer is the first place I saw it.
The image says something about me too, In a way I can't explain.

Mine would suggest I'm a huge fan of Katie Jane Garside of the band Queenadreena and formally Daisy Chainsaw.

I'm also quite partial to tea. :D

I love wolves too. I have two wolf heads with celtic knotwork tattooed on my back. :D

They're not only beautiful, but admirable in all the ways I'm not - Fearless, confident and social!

I thought that biscuit was making some of the posts. All of my cats try to get in a few keystrokes.

Most of mine are arty, and naturistic, but of me. I guess I like to show my hidden side here, and my more "unusual" style photos which are a sort of reflection of my AS; my fascination with tiny details, my interest in the shapes, textures, colours of the things around me (usually leaves and flowers).

I am quite fond of you photos, I could never look so good in a photo, and often I am ebaressed of what I look like in photos and wonder if that is what I look like all the time. Plus, most of my photos I look upset. Your phots have a very nice artistic quality to them, and I admire you for being able to do that.

Thankyou so much. :) I'm actually quite proud of my photos, I put a lot of effort into getting good ones (generally I would take about 600 in a round, then sort through and slowly delete until I end up with about 10 that I particularly like). I like the combination of blue, green, yellow, and some colour such as white or orange, so I find my eyes and hair colour a good medium to work with when combined with flowers and leaves. I'd love to actually make a gallery of them, but I'm always uncertain about showing them to other people in case they think they're vanity because I'm in them. :(

I really like Sunshowers avatars but suspected deep down inside that they were survailence photos from the DEA since many of her plants look suspicious.
