I have a dream this afternoon.

Just been playing Pokémon Crystal on my GBC emulator, and thought about how similar the basic game structure is to Final Fantasy (VIII, at least).

Imagine this:

A Pokémon game released on PS2/Xbox/PS3/X360/PC, that features all Pokémon, and has a system as widely variable as the junction system. Limit breaks would be a nice FF touch too.

I would snap it up.

(possibilities for a non-GF, non-magic junction system.... hmmmm)
Ahah! Each Pokémon has its own unique (and long) list of abilities it can learn (think of the GF abilities). How strong the party is depends, not only on levels, but also on which abilities (and in which order) have been chosen.

This would make it crucial to select the right party of 6, and also to HAVE the right party. Gotta catch em all.

The game would feel mostly like the Gameboy games, but visually would look more like Final Fantasy.

((((hugs))))

Ha ha. No wonder my Mom hated Pokémon so much! She can't stand any stories written by me because they are so much like Pokémon (y'know, kinda repetitive and collecting a lot of stuff). My Mom was quite surprised when I told her that he also had AS. She said, 'well that explains why you liked it so much!'

Maybe Pokemon attracts Aspies, considering I myself used to love it so much! Those were good times, but I think the show got worse somewhere during the 4th season. :?

They would have had to change his voice anyway. His old voice actress died suddenly in December. The whole fandom was in shock and I think we're only starting to get over it, since she was involved on sites and very popular.

But anyway 28 and a massive MASSIVE Pokémon fan here. I hadn't watched the show in a while but not because of any of those things, rather because it comes on at 6 am here. But I got up early two weeks in a row for the Team Galactic episodes (and oh man I've tried to figure out what the hell is mentally up with Cyrus, but I think and think and the only thing I can think of is "crazy").

As I've said before in the "fictional characters with AS" threads, I think Jirarudan, the collector from the second movie, is borderline textbook. He lives in his own little world fueled by his obsessions with the inability to relate to anything outside it, he's rigid when it comes to behaviors (both his own and those of others), he talks *constantly* even when he's alone, he's got a flat affect despite being internally passionate, has very little empathy (his comments to Moltres don't seem to be out of cruelty), he's disturbingly smart but doesn't act like it (his production sketch says he has "frightening scientific knowledge", but he manages to do some of the most boneheaded things in the entire series), he's overly literal and takes words at face value (both his interpretation of the legend and his reaction to Misty screaming at him), and it's also entirely possible that he has sensory issues (long sleeved coat with an undershirt, in tropical islands in the middle of summer?).

He's a frustrating character. I want to smack him, shake him, yell at him, and then tuck him in and read him a bedtime story.
