Right. And if a color is ever found that is darker than black, Aspies are wearing it! 8)

I'm naked under my lab coat.

Like a black that sucks all the color out of a room. Or somedays - a white that glows but doesn't hurt your eyes. Like a pearlescent color that makes people really mellow and makes you look really ethereal.

I can't tell if things match. Left to my own devices, I buy 5 white or blue button down shirts and 5 navy or black slacks, and a belt. that way, everything matches.

Now i have a wife, and an adolescent daughter, and they sometimes choose clothes for me. Clothes shopping makes me cry.

Huh? I'm a diagnosed aspie and I already said that I don't wear black because it's hard to regulate body temperature in. Why would I wear something that's "even darker than black"?

BTW, I bet those colors that are really dark, yet not quite black, were originally black but have since faded, such as what happens to any black cotton after 5 or so wash cycles.

That is odd. Where did you read/see that that is the case?

I don't read any fashion mags, ( or very rarely ), and haven't been looking at newspapers or been into more than one clothes shop in the last 6 months, ( and that one definitely didn't have any yellow in sight ), and yet yellow is exactly the colour I started, this last couple of weeks, to feel like wearing. :D

And last year I got into purple/lilac, and got the impression that a lot of people had had the same idea! 8)

.

People are looking toward yellow in hope for a brighter future, especially here in America. Not only is it a nice, happy color, but it's also symbollic. After all, no one wants to continue living the way we all are today. 8)

Apologies Flismflop...I was kidding. Black is the absence of light which is not congruent with fabric dye. Personally, Lab Pet is an autumn.

Ditto dalcassian. Shopping is sensory overload waiting to happen.

Totally agree. If the economy sucks - the fashion industry suffers, big time. Not an evil conspiracy - just basic feng shui! The Chinese use colors for all aspects of society.

I go out of my way to make sure I am mismatched. My wife says I dress like a clown.

My socks don't match. My jacket and pants don't match and my shirt clashes with my tie when I wear a tie. I prefer it that way.

Go out of your way to unmatch your socks? You're a classic, text-book rebel, aren't you? (Not as if I couldn't tell that from your other posts). ;)

I think you sound like you dress very eccentrically - which is cool. I can only imagine what hell you've put your wife through - but I think its very charming!

Some of my favorite people are subversive dressers.
