Went to Home Depot today. Proportional with the poll results, I got some live traps and some little wooden snap traps. The live traps go down first, tonight. But the snap traps may have to also get set tomorrow, I think. Depends on the 1st night results.

Thank you so much for your advice! This is hard for me!

If you don't want to kill them there are those humane traps around. The only thing is it might take a hell of a lot of time to catch them all and take them far enough away to release them. Then again, I'm one of those people who would kill them.

Ehm, apart from that, get a cat and let nature bear any of the guilt?

I agree, just get a sweet, lovable, hungry little kitty and let nature take it's course.

I love the Mouse Trap game, it's so cute.
Even though it sounds terrible, what I do is buy a box of that Deacon mouse poison and keep one around the house at all times. If you have pets make sure it's where they can't get it. Having cats does not keep mice away, as they are very quick and cat's cannot always catch them or reach their nests.
If you keep a box of Deacon around at all times, you'll never see a mouse. Ever since I started keeping one, I have yet to find any mice in my house, after the two I had were gone.

Ephemerella, may I pm you privately. It's really important and it involves your special interests. You may be able to use your special interests to help me out. In addition, it sort of does relate to the mice and your feeling bad of killing them.

@ the OP another bit of common ground 8O

I have a humane trap, mice go in, cannot get out. I let them go down back lanes.

Quick Search and I found the exact model

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HUMANE-MOUSE-TRAP-Mice-Catcher-5-Plus-per-setting_W0QQitemZ140307641842QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Pest_Control?hash=item140307641842&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A975|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

If you can get it shipped to the US this model works really well

I wouldn't kill them. It's not nice to kill them. Now gophers, that's a different story... But to tell the truth I don't even think I would kill the gopher if I had the chance.

doesnt work.
ive tried.
(i knew it wouldnt work then too, some irresponsible idiot neighbour of me got the cat. i took it from him, and later moved. my cat now :) )

mice will hide better, keep inside the walls, if theres a cat in the house.
even if the cat did catch a mouse, they breed, and produce like 10 000 new mice. the cat can simply not eat them all.

maybe if you get 10 cats?

It could be worse. You could have a bat flying around your bedroom at 3:30 in the morning. That's always interesting.

Good luck on your mouse hunt.
