First born female. My little sister is normal. (Well..) I don't really know which is better looking. She's more petite. XD; I do get compliments, but it also really depends on how you dress, so it's hard to judge.

I'll offer up my best friend too, LOL. She's HFA, first born, and has 3 siblings who are sort of nerdy but seem normal. Her face is sort of plain but she has an amazing Baywatch body. (And totally doesn't know it.)

To be perfectly honest, my first thought when looking at your photo was "that guy could be the son of British character actor Patrick Murray", which is actually a good thing, IMO. Not particularly otherworldly though.

Awesome

I had no clue who that was but I looked him up and I can see it, I'd consider that a good thing too.

That is blunt indeed, but I guess it's acceptable. That's what I get for asking

I don't think you should be saying that autistics are unusually more "beautiful". it just makes those that don't see themselves that way think of another way they don't fit in it, knowhatimsayin?

That's how it made me feel. Then again, I can be over-sensitive.

Second born.

I don't recall anybody saying I was an unusually attractive child. I recall them saying that I would be if I'd tolerate them combing my hair, though.

People occassionally remark that I'm an unusually attractive adult. They tend to use some descriptor like 'elfin' or 'fey.' I am unusually small. I am not classically beautiful in the 'big eyes, symmetrical' sense. My face is less symmetrical than most people's, and I squint.

Where are you from that so many people know what "fey" means? Where I am, in the whole city, a total of maybe 5 people know what it means.

My friends with AS are other worldy looking, even the ones that aren't good looking in the traditional sense they still look "beautiful" because they always look sirene and spaced out. And I quite like that look I find it attractive in the opposite sex (that might explain all the aspie boy crushes XD)

It is a noce look on guys. Sadly, not many have the look in a way I quite like.

I'm not sure how this physical attractiveness and AS thing got started, but it sure seems to have developed traction with all the threads about it. If anything, I think the reverse is true. Apologies if that sounds ungenerous, but from the videos of AS meetups I have seen and photos posted, that has been my experience.

In response to the original question, firstborn and I'll steer away from self-evaluation of looks ;)

They're all gamers. I owe my social life to Gary Gygax.

I mean, I'm not implying that you are a crazed serial killer. You just look like one in that picture. :)

Maybe you look like one too?

Interesting!

I don't know if I'm HFA/Asperger's or not, but I am the first born son. I don't know how attractive I am.

I'm just curious where you found this research; I want to look more into it.

Now all this is making me think of an experiment to test the idea. Maybe there is a way to randomly select autistics from those who keep track of them at a university, then also randomly select non-diagnosed people at the university. Then we could ask these randomly selected people to take place in a study where their pictures are taken (while also bribing them with just a liitle bit of money). Then we could do a blind study where common people used as raters are told to rate the faces on a scale of 1 to 10 (without telling them who's who). If the attractiveness part is true, rather than just ancedotal, then a logical consequence is the autistic group will turn out to be rated more attractive, or the same (if "attractiveness" only means they're not different looking, like Down Syndrome subjects are). That's just a thought I had on making it falsifiable/testable. Even if we don't have the resources to do so, I just like to think about these things.

It could work. Many, many "look at the face and tell me what you think" studies have been done. There are so many of that kind of study out there that it's pretty much it's own sub-genre of psychological studies. It just hasn't been done to research this particular topic yet. But it would be easy to set up. Somebody needs to pry Borat's cousin away from the leafless tree of Theory of Mind that he's been barking up and get him to do this. He seems like a guy who genuinely wants to understand, but he tends to jump to goofy conclusions based on his own NT-ness. But he could definately set it up easily enough.

First born female. (I should probably note here that my dad, who I suspect is also AS, and my mum, whom I'm just starting to think might be AS too, were both first born). Somewhat attractive, but certainly not remarkably so.
