I tried to post a picture but it came out as text. I did use the correct tags.

I am disappointed.

Interesting message in this here context, and not being sarcastic. Yes, sometimes pictures do come out as text and sometimes text can come out as pictures, at least metaphorically speaking.

I saw thing on national public television about the world's greatest chess master...mind bogglingly interesting....his brain knew some kind of 'trick' way ot process sensory information...

I tried posting pictures and the url didn't work but when I double clicked the pictures the same pictures came up with a different url at wordpress.com and that worked.

Did the URL start with "https" instead of "http"?
That's a common reason for image and YouTube clip embedding failures here and usually, changing it to "http" is enough to make it work. (other image-related bugs permitting :roll: )
Another reason might be because the URL included additional text after the file type (jpg, png, gif etc).

Yep, it was https.

I should have thought of that. I mean, I figured it out easily enough with the youtube.

I am annoyed with the fact that there is a lag between opening a page and the page reacting on WP. And it is not my connection!
