My dad does have some AS traits but some of it is probably Dyslexia & ADHD(I've been diagnosed as both sense I started school). My dad had a lot of problems in school & he's kind of obsessive-compulsive about things. I kind of suspect that he mite have AS but deals with it in a different way than me; he can be a fairly social person at times. We never had a close relationship thou. I'm the only one in my family who has AS thou I don't have an official diagnoses but my mom suspected me of being autistic as an infant & she believes I do have Aspergers even thou the doc's diagnosed me as everything else instead. I'm an only child & all of my cousins are fairly outgoing; I'm the black-sheep of my family

I come from a family where my father, I would say has traits. He is very smart with math and whatever he did, it was good. I don't see any obsessive interests though. Everyone else in my family has smoked, loves to drink, party and dance. I have never desired to smoke, am particular about alcohol, don't like being drunk, and only like some songs that make me feel inclined to dance.

Other than a cousin who lives a good distance away, I'm the only one.

I'm the only confirmed Aspie in my family. OCD and mood disorders definitely run in my family, though, and I also have a kid cousin who is autistic.

One of my cousins showed so many symptoms: obsession with electricity, got anxious over tiny things, annoyed me in a way no-one else did, wasn't mixing with other children properly. A behaviour therepist was even having a chat with his mum at his house once when I was there, and he felt too embarrassed to tell me why she was there, so I started to feel happy because I knew I wasn't the only one......

......until I found out he went to a loud* party** with his NT mates*** in his peers**** on his 18th birthday.

*um...Aspies don't like loudness

***um...Aspies CAN'T have ''NT mates''.
****yeh, and 18 year old Aspies don't get along with other 18 year olds

I am the only Aspie that I've ever actually met (yes I have met myself :-p). My younger brother shows a lot of traits, but they are mostly related to his ADHD. My parents and elder brother have ADHD as well. I am the odd one out, and they are constantly saying things like "Get over it" or "Just deal," so I can relate to feeling like a lonely pariah.

No one in my family ever got a diagnosis of Autism except me. I don't think that they have any traits whatsoever. My brother might have slight ADD, but he's definitely not autistic.

That was kind of an overgeneralisation

I'm fairly sure I have mild Asperger's, but I've not been diagnosed (high scores on all Aspie tests though). No one else in my family has it, but my father is halfway there. We have the same way of walking, special interests, and comorbid OCD. He could spend hours constructing things with minute details in his workshop. He made a binder of our travels plans when we went to California, all of the routes planned out and everything. He also seems to ignore someone who is talking if he's watching TV. Me and my brothers had to yell at him to get his attention when we were little.

Now I've never had a problem with that last issue myself.
