Many years ago, in religion class, I directed this theory of mine to a nun, sincerely expecting some answers.

I was called an insolent child and sent out of class. I never attended that class again.

I find the christian morals to be ambiguous and unfair. There is no doubt that there are a few morals that can be applicable to a mordern society that can be found in the bible, but they are usually right next to something quite vile or nonsensical. I appreciate that many of these rules were made in the context of the time, but surely a book that is supposed to speak of the "flawless" word of God would still be applicable today?

By 'morals' I meant that I think it's immoral to go around killing people and lying to people and committing adultery, among other things.

If by pwning you mean failing to understand how it actually works, and giving examples that he thinks support his point of view, that actually don't, then yes, he is definitely doing that.

i dont know how to defend my position any further. we will have to agree to disagree, we will just have to see who was right come judgement day.

@Thechadmaster: lets see who right on judgement day? I don't think using those scare tactics will work on people who don't even believe in judgement day. I am not at all intimidated by the threat of going to hell.

I am atheist, which does NOT mean that I know there is no god, it means I believe there is no god. If I were to encounter some sort of evidence of intelligent design, I would absolutely consider it, but that has yet to happen. Probably part of that is what one considers "evidence"; a religious man I know considers the complexity and perfect fit of all things in the universe to be evidence of intelligent design, and he is awed by the enormity of it. I, on the other hand, a Darwinist, would be amazed if everything did not fit so well together, since that is what happens when things evolve.

Let's just say, for example, that I began collecting so much evidence of intelligent design that I was forced to change my conviction and accept that god exists. Why would I worship him? A god who has created a world in which unnecessary suffering is rife? In that case I would know one thing for sure: that I am better than god, despite being designed by him. If there is an entity who has created this universe, he is not welcome in my house, whether or not he is already there.

How NT of you to say that. you sound like every grade school bully i have ever known, i show one sign of frustration and you jump on me like a lion on a gazelle.

i am trying to help you understand where im coming from, but you obviously have your mind made up, if you want to take my words out of context, thats your perogative. i wont judge you or curse you, but i guess i cant expect any courtesy from any of you when it comes to a differing viewpoint.

I'm an Aspie, so you can't be saying I'm an NT by asking this... but what's so wrong with NTs?

I know. I said something NT! Oh it's such a crime. Anyway, I have made another post, not because of you chad, because I don't want to piss off mods or anything.

I was under no presumption that certain words or slang words could be categorized as being NT.

NTs to me have become a symbol of 13 years of pain in school, NTs who refuse to accept that not everyone is like them, (i know MONKEY is gonna jump on this: i accept that you are different, i just disagree with you)

NTs are subconciously (they dont even realize it) attempting to "normalize" anyone who differs. While i am a Christian Creationist, i do believe that "survival of the fittest" is a very real concept. "fittest" is a loaded word though, it is what the average NT defines it to be, if this world does not want autism, it will ignore it until we either assimilate or "fail"

Not all NTs are the same. It's just that the as*holes had more of a presence and were "louder" than the nice NTs so to speak.

You criticized MONKEY for saying something that 'sounded NT', which is implying that you think something is wrong with sounding NT... and that's really stereotypical of you to say that the average NT thinks that. There are mean autistic people, and mean neurotypical people. I've met many, many very supportive NT friends in my life, and I don't think it's any good of you to assume that most NTs have the same thought processes.
