The old Transbay Terminal is being torn down my friend. There's a new open-air "temporary" terminal with a Greyhound depot nearby on Main and Howard that has security and no homeless are loitering. Maybe I'll see you there when I get on my bus back home.

Sadness. I remember many a fine hour I spent on the F-train between Berkeley and San Francisco.

I love traveling by subway. I think underground (or elevated) urban railways are rather fun as long as they are not too crowded.

I'm ok with buses despite being so close to people. But now they have pre-paid only tickets.
I'm ok with trains providing I have a charged battery in my ipod.
I have a disability pass too. Everywhere is $2.50.

Generally I am pretty good with taking Public Transit. Even in my town of roughly 32,000 people, we have a fairly decent system (so yes, it is hourly on most routes, not-so-hourly on the longER routes)
On the busiest routes, they run every half-hour at best, which happens to be before and after the schools let out. The latest they run is 10pm, and that is only on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays :? Other days, they run only til 7-ish.
Sometimes there are creepy people that come on. That is why I sit at the front in the "Priority seats," unless someone who physically needs it more than I do comes on. I remember one time this guy sparked a super creepy conversation with me... I was in too much shock to tell him off  and instead was going to report him to the driver if he didn't stop... but right when I began contemplating it, he got off... which was just FINE with me!
Yes, I do have my FULL driver's license, in that I have no restrictions as to passenger capacity and/or having to wear a sticker. In British Columbia, that would be a Class Five. I do have a Motor Scooter ('08 Honda Jazz 49cc) of which I take out when the weather is nice and the roads are good. [Did I mention that it is REALLY fun to ride??! ! 8)] When I need to get groceries (I live with Mom, but am independent regarding my basic living needs), sometimes my mother will loan me her car for that purpose. Sometimes, she will even get me to be her Designated Driver when she goes out :)
HOWEVER, apart from the aforementioned, I would much rather take a bus and/or walk to where I need to go, even if the weather is bad (the Coast of B.C. gets some pretty wicked Low Pressure systems!). The bus drivers in my town are really awesome. There are the ones who are "Just there to do their job" yet will not hesitate to give a hand when needed, those (most of them!) who enjoy sparking conversations with their passengers including one who has a new "story" to tell EVERY TIME I get on her bus, one who likes to "pull legs" (I swear he has miniature devil horns hidden under his ball cap :D) but is otherwise in a ridiculously good mood ALL the time plus a convo' starter, and those who have been observed to go above and beyond their job description (plus all of the aforementioned)!
Heck, I daresay I sometimes take the bus just for an excuse to talk to someone :P
Someone mentioned before me that in taking the bus/other public transportation system, they get to meet regular riders. Very true on my end :)

I need an opinion. Referring back to the creepy person who sparked a rather uncomfortable mostly one-sided discussion with me
(By uncomfortable, I mean it started to get somewhat sexual), do you still think i should have reported it, even though he got off before I could do anything about it?? ***Also, what stopped me is that I could not form the words needed as to what was wrong with what he was talking about with me :(

I live in London. I have a freedom pass due to disability so I can travel on any public transport in London for free. I can't drive due to disability and don't plan to ever do it as a car seems a bit pointless in London. I had an obsession about the London Underground a while ago. I go 22 stops on the Northern Line to get home from uni (I get a government-funded taxi to uni every morning as I can't travel on the Underground in rush hour due to paranoia and panic attacks in crowds). The Underground is very noisy at times, so I have noise cancelling headphones and music with me whenever I go. I love looking at the Underground map and I have one next to my bed, and I have three different Underground maps on my bedroom wall. I also like buses, as they are less noisy, but during rush hour I tend to walk anything within a three-mile radius because the buses are horrendous at that time. I love trains though. I went to Canterbury once by the High Speed Rail train and it was pretty interesting. Once my friend and I travelled from Wimbledon to Epping (about 30 miles I'm guessing) on the Underground for the sake of it. Another time we travelled once around the Circle Line, but the Circle Line is no longer a circle, which I am upset about.
