The only thing close to meds that I had ever taken was tylenol for toothaches or PMS...other than that, I don't require any.

Oh, I forgot to mention that there isn't a lot of medications people under 18 can take in my area and I am under 18 and the medication offered doesn't work.

I wish I didn't have to take meds, but I do. I have a lot of mental health problems that only got under control after I started taking medicine for them.

Some of you guys might find cannabis helps. Go carefully though, some of you might find it a bit unsettling, others will find it helps. Please don't judge. The big story in the U.S. right now seems to be that Cannabis is replacing Ritalin for ADD as a safe alternative! ASD too?

I take only medications for my intersex syndrome (hormones). That's it. Things improved when I got the right hormone formulation.

Honestly for the ASD portion, I am one who fully believes Occupational therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is much more helpful than any medication for treating elements of ASD. If ADHD has proved anything, medications rarely work the way they should, and that treating these issues need to go beyond drug therapy. You cannot cure developmental issues with a pill. You need to help the person learn to adapt to their issues...that is what OT and CBT is all about.

I don't take meds. My doctor prescribed me citalopram at the start of last year when I was going through a big depression but I found it overwhelming and soon stopped. I don't think I need anything now and anyway, I'd prefer not to rely on anything artificial unless I absolutely had to.

And how do they work for you? I have OCD but though my doctors have recommended medication I've never taken any for it. I'll admit I probably need it as sometimes it prevents me from leaving my house.

Really? I used to be anti-drugs, too, but then I took Tylenol for a really bad headache and I haven't gotten off it since. :D

I want to start trying psychiatric drugs, but I'm not ready to be officially diagnosed with mental health problems yet.

I don't think I've ever had a headache. And if I have, I've never noticed as as being such. I've had neck pains that made it feel like a headache, but all I had to do was crack my neck and it went away, the next closest would have to be my sensitivity to light, but, just as before, as soon as I'm out of bright light it goes right away.

I really am not sure as to the origin of my username, I made it when I was 10 but don't remember much more. No negative connotations are aligned with it at least.

I don't take meds for Autism. My doctor has told me that people with Aspergers are more likely to become addicted to things like drugs, alcohol etc, so I wouldn't even consider it.

I may, however, start taking "pills" for sleeping problems - they're pills that have hormones in to help you fall to sleep, as it's just FALLING asleep that I have problems with, but like I said, it's not for my autism, and if they were any other type of sleeping pill, I'd say no too.

I don't take medication. Have considered it but believe it to be unnatural. I think you can live without them and may cause more harm than good. (Try EFT it is amazing.)
