They have been tested but not in YOUR way.

People that have been around me know this. People like you however think everything that is provable must be done in the same old clinical type of study when this form of ability defies that.

The only way you can really test it is by being around that person enough to see it for yourself.

Or hey maybe you'll get lucky soon and gain some of this insight yourself although I wouldn't classify it luck or a good time.

Oh, it can't be tested by science? That's also convenient.

You should read this and this.

K, I'm done with being insulted by you.
You'll soon be met by the same rude judgmental attitude you have given to me when you least expect it.

Can Aspies be psychic?

If you believe psychic ability is real, then I don't see why someone on the spectrum couldn't have it.

Because reality isn't based on belief.

Stop believing in gravity and you will still go splat shortly after you jump from a cliff.

Believing you will win the lottery this week doesn't make it happen.

Wow I didn't know this thread is revived. I'm the OP and I should clarify things a bit. I don't "believe" anything really. My question was mostly posted during a very bad week when I dreamed annoying dreams every night and didn't get good sleep. Mostly I dreamed that my parents annoyed me to no end, just like in real life. DH claimed that's like predicting the weather here will be rainy, or that stock market is not going to be doing well. It's bound to happen. It was mostly meant for a vent. I think I really wanted to be able to block negative feelings from my dreams and have good rest.

I distinctly remember one incident while I was in seventh or eight grade. I was on my way to school in a bus when I could see the crossing guards for railroad tracks lowering with the lights flashing. I turned away, looked again and the guards were upright with no flashing lights. I thought it was odd, my mind playing tricks on me. By the time the bus got to the tracks, the guards were going down and we had to stop and patiently wait for the train to pass. I thought it weird I saw the crossing guards lower before they did. Strangely, this doesn't happen every time a train crosses in front of the vehicle I am in. Why it happened that day remains a mystery.

:?:

I never said I believed in psychic ability, but it appears you're looking for someone to spar with.

I'm not interested. Thanks anyway.

Because of the way you are going about it in such a bitchy way. I've already said it doesn't work that way with me. It comes and goes and people like you would just make up excuses as to why it happened anyway that suits your own "logic".

Your imagined 'abilities' are only in your head. The reason they are not demonstrable is that you only think events are occurring. They aren't really.

People imagine things like this all the time.

Please learn some more science.

Um, "science" is very interested in telepathic communication.

This is true, science is very interested in testing claims and developing technologies. I don't see what that has to do with this thread though, science doesn't "deal" with magic.

I don't think humans are psychic. We just aren't properly equipped.

Think of your nervous system, it's laid out much like a TV antenna. It could make a great receiver, but where then is the transmitter? We don't have one. Even a radio needs a transmitter antenna, and it is shaped differently from the receiving antenna. We have no such shape in our body of sufficient size and proper location to act as a transmitter. Brain waves can leak out, but they are not organized for broadcast.

We have half the equipment, so I say psychic powers do not exist for us.

Pffft you see it all the time in humans and animals, both. Somepeople call it "gut instinct." It does exist. Science only has to unravel the mystery of how it exists. What makes it possible.

Minds are like umbrellas, they only work when they are open ;)

With a claim like 'I can read your mind' what science normally does is establish whether or not that person can actually read minds. Only after they have proved they can do it will a scientist bother to work out how it is done.

Not a single person in centuries of claims has ever been able to prove that they can actually read minds and not a single credible mechanism is available for these abilities to exist, so it is fairly safe to file psychic ability in the BS draw along with homoeopathy and perpetual motion machines.
