Small things (things I can carry with me and nobody will likely notice): .50 cal., 20mm, 25mm, or 30mm rounds, lucky rabbit's foot, some random Picatinny rail mount (it feels very good to run my fingers along).
Larger things (items people would notice): one of my AK-47s, Boris (not Heinrich, the one I fire), ammo boxes, various other things that are metal and heavy, and a Maxim machine gun (which I haven't found a suitable name for yet).

This topic makes me want to get a permanent toy, very badly. I always just play with whatever bills/change/etc I have that are available, but a specific one to go to would be ideal!

The main problem is that when nothing is immediately available, I start playing with my armhair, or beard. And that's too noticeable.

I do have a bit of an oral fixation and will put just about any clean looking piece of plastic in my mouth. Usually, this ends up being the battery cover to my TV remote but can include other things as well. I had to break myself of chewing on my pens though since giving a chewed up pen to a customer to sign their credit card receipt is disgusting and not liable to lead to a good tip.

As far as actual toys go, I keep two by my bed: A metal Slinky (that I also use as a shortwave radio antenna) and an IKEA Ljusa crank charged flashlight. I also usually have a folding knife, Mini Maglite and a dog whistle in my pocket when I am out and about. Those things can be used to stim, but are more kept on my person to deal with problems that can crop up in my profession (pizza delivery driver).

i like hitting the notes on pianos and keyboards. i never learned to play but i like the sounds they make.

I like pens, too. Ialso use note books to stim with. I doodle insanely when I am looking for stimulation and carry paper and pens everywhere. I also have a stuffed penguin and I used to have slinkies.

I always drew in class, which resulted in me getting yelled at for not listening. After repeating verbatim everything the teachers/professors said and offering an answer to any questions nobody in the class wanted to tackle, they'd realize I wasn't bored/trying to disrespect them, but instead, was trying to retian the information through drawing.

When I was little I used to always have to have a toy in bed with me. Not just a stuffed animal, but a toy. Like a yo yo, a small ball, those plastic bracelets you make into shapes over and over again. Basically anything I could play with in my hands and chew. Now, I play with this wooden fold out ruler. It's supposed to be used to measure things but I always fold it to make different shapes and letters and then close it. I keep doing that as it occupy's my hands. During the day when I'm not laying down, I always play with my hands. I fidget with them and twist 2 fingers together, you know, basically whatever I can do. I also chew on things. That's how so many necklaces get broken because I play with the chain around my neck and chew it. I wear my watch almost every day but I try not to wear it when I'm just hanging around the house because it's got a rubber strap and I chew it constantly when it's on my wrist. Well, needless to say, I take it off of my wrist first but still, if it's out of sight then I don't think about chewing it. I never ever chew pens or pencils thoug. I find it totally gross. I'm not sure why I do this. I know it's a force of habit but it might also be a sense of security too. Even though I always feel safe.

I'm thinking of purchasing a Stylophone. I've always loved playing with them, but never owned one.

I have this:

Image

My epic keychain. If I'm actually in my house, I dont pay it much mind, but if I'm OUT of the house, regardless of where I am and what I'm doing, I have to have it with me or I tend to get rather bothered. And then I'll fidget with it half the time.

And also pens, tend to fidget with those alot.

Do you have actual uses for all that stuff? Other than fiddling with it all.

It's like a key totem.

My stim toys are two plushies - a small dolphin named Dory and a Blue Nosed Friends pig named Truffles - a Calico Critters cat named Miss Important, and a small die cast of Susie the Coupe made by Tomy in the mid - to - late 1970s. I take all these guys everywhere with me...I don't really "do" anything with them; it just relaxes me to know that they're nearby if I really DO need them. I think they're sort of a way of being reassured that I have friends, since I have so few of those in real life.

It's at my mom's house currently, but one of my other stime toys that does get a lot of use is this little hat that came off a baby doll years ago....it's white with aqua ribbons on it, and when I listen to music on my MP3 player or radio while I'm there, I like to toss it around my room as I leap around. :D That's been one of my main stims for years now. At my dad's house, I had these squishy balls I stimmed with the same way. My stepmom didn't like my stimming much, and would try to limit or make me alter it in certain ways...needless to say, that did not go over well with me. She's never had a need to stim - she doesn't know what it's like.

This beanie baby was my stim toy for ages, I could spend hours tossing it back and forth or twirling it by the tail. I still have it though I don't use it much anymore, now my biggest stim toy is the skin on my thumb (I pick it, sadly) and my trampoline. I also twirl or "flap" my sunglasses when I get the urge to stim in public.

For the most part, not really. Most of it doesnt do anything special. Some of them make assorted sound effects when pressed (all from video games). Mostly, there's my car key on the top there, there's a house key for the main house on there somewhere, and there's also a thing kinda like a Swiss Army knife.

My stim toys:

BuckyBalls (although I'm a bit conscious of the noise they make when I aggressively play with them during seminars).
A vintage Bug Out Bob rubber stress toy.
A rubber/ alternative latex dinosaur toy with a light up center. His name is Bart. I won this at an arcade.
Rubber balls!
Aaron's Thinking Putty (I've only tried the magnetic type, but I'd like to try the sort that changes colors).

It never quite feels like one stim/fidget toy is enough, so I'm always on the lookout for a more permanent one that can give me that perfect tactile feeling and occupy my brain. This has earned me strange looks in the children's section in museum gift shops.
