the diagnoses process started when i was 14 but finally finished when i was 15. i was diagnosed with aspergers because i originally was sent to the hospital after i pulled a knife on my sister and tried to stab her, i was evaluated by 2 doctors who sent my file to a specialist who confirmed aspergers. That diagnoses was changed to ASD level 1 this year, im 18.

I was diagnosed with PDD-NOS by the age of 6. I started receiving autism resource services at school at age 9. I was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome at age 13. Now, my diagnosis is simply autism spectrum disorder.

Sixteen. It should have been around age five. The autistic-experienced psychiatrist was completely surprised with how my severity wasn't recognized by at least schools.

56. My AS mom was dying, and my NT sister was still trying to get a normal motherly response out of her. I did another search on her symptoms, and recognized us both. I'd been in groups for recovery from dysfunctional families, etc. for over a decade, and even after we made it to the DSM, nobody was even thinking of genetics. We had, at least, learned to avoid other diagnoses.

Started to suspect at the age of 51.
Researched through most of the year age 52.
Had a professional assessment confirming those suspicions at the age if 53.

I think I was about nine. I had no idea what it meant until I was in high school.
