I've been accused of arguing alot as a kid when I was just trying to ask questions to better understand or analyze or explain myself.

I am extremely opinionated and I am called out by very irritated family members for being extremely nitpicky. I really don't mean to upset people, I just want people to have their facts straight and I have problems knowing if I have said too much.

I hardly ever argue with anyone and am told that I am rather chill. I'm not afraid to defend or argue for my way, but rarely have to. Most opposition is simply opinionated and hardly carries any weight or concern in my eyes.

I've gotten accused of being argumentative and being told I love to do it but the truth is I don't really enjoy it and if I think someone is stupid or is willfully ignorant and not willing to get it or understand, I won't bother with them, same as if they are not listening and they are just twisting what I am saying. I don't care for being right or trying to get the last word. trying to get the last word is just childish and stupid. If anyone views me as being argumentative it's because they don't like to hear my opinion or my perspective

I never said it aloud, but often I think just this.

I have been told that I argue against everything. People get pissed that I don't automatically agree with them. Is that how NTs see the world?

Sounds like black and white thinking on their part. Some people don't like it when people have a different view than them so they call it an arguement.

I get irritated when people don't get facts straight, but insist that the falsehood is a fact.

I've encountered this very frequently on my job. I learned to just "roll with the punches" if somebody tells me that Louisiana is NORTH of Alabama.

This x2

I only argue when I have the facts to KNOW im right, which is not that often. Unlike a lot of NTs I will not defend my position if it is based on ignorance and lack of knowledge. Why people will defend statements based on zero knowledge is beyond me. Also people who seem to not have the slightest comprehension of logic hurts my brain.

Yes, me too, and I express dissent to people who make mass generalisations from a single case. They know x has this so everyone else must have it too... it's very hard for me not to challenge flawed assumptions like that. I suppose expressing dissent can be very like arguing.. though I think there is some kind of difference (?)

I used to drive my History teacher crazy whenever she got her facts wrong. She got them wrong often and I would always correct her because I never listened to her lectures and I always read through the textbook myself.

No, I thought it was the other way... I seek to avoid conflict but others (NTs) see in black and white and try to drag me into their emotionally driven crap.
