Kramer might be an example of social genius. He didn't care what people thought and he always did well with the ladies.

Here's an article about the real Kramer (who the TV character was based on). He was asked to comment about the recent Michael Richards racist incident.

yeah, yeah i've heard about it so many times...he apologized for the incident on tv. i still see kramer as kramer, no matter what the real life actor does.

I wasn't talking about Michael Richards--that was just what was being commented on in the article because that's what in the news this week. I was talking about Kramer the character, which was based on a real person called Kramer, who was quoted in the article. If the character of Kramer was based on this Kenny Kramer, then Kenny Kramer is probably an Aspie.

Detective Robert O. Goren from Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Trust me on this one.

And might I add that this show caused me to have a very intense interest in Vincent D'Onofrio. Not that I'm complaining..

yeah, i'm pretty certain he liked smokin. every ep i saw he was very 'slow' and 'steady' in his analysis of what was going on.

i could be wrong, but something just seemed like he was into the reefer.

thanks skzyp!! !

Howard Moon off The Mighty Boosh. Very focused and concrete in his interests (jazz, mainly), completely socially inept, to the point of never having even kissed a girl...more? Iono.

Amelia Bedilia...from the old children's books....very akward..takes things very literally....unusually tall....(for those who subscribe to the notion that tallness and aspieness are co-related...)

I 4th or 5th Butters from South Park...even today, I get accused of talking/acting like Butters..and he sorta reminds me of myself as a child...

I wonder if the Deniro character in Taxi Driver was the way he was due to complex PTSD...as he had been a marine in Vietnam....but yeah....I have noticed the Aspie traits in him as well.

ummmm.....and as always....the movie I have been most obsessed with.....Gelsomina from La Strada....There is just something about the way that she is....

omfg I can't believe only one person mentioned Adrian Monk so far... and not until page FOUR?? How much more Aspie can he get? The episode where he back to his college for a reunion, where he told his assistant he'd been known as Captain Cool.... only to find out it was because he defrosted a fridge in the common room every week. And his brother Ambrose, as well. Another Aspie from the word "go".

And yes I absolutely agree with House, Grissom, and the Law & Order guy, that almost monotone delivery he has, the methodical way he analyzes everything. Just because we don't directly perceive the NT's emotions sometimes, doesn't mean we can't LEARN to analyze them. After all, how many of us end up as pyschiatrists? More than you might think. And as attorney's too.

My favorite movie is Amelie. After I found out about AS and looked up a bunch of information I realized I probably love that movie so much because she seems to have it too :o She has lots of weird quirks, prefers to be alone, never knew how to make friends, loves certain textures, etc. I had my fiance watch it a few weeks ago and since then he always brings her up and says how we have so much in common. He also thinks shes an aspie :D

I saw "P.S. I Love You" last night, and they imply that Harry Connick Jr.'s character, Daniel, has Asperger's. He talks about how he's constantly "the shoulder" to women and never anything else, which is a pretty common problem for us Aspie males. He is prone to being more blunt and honest than is really expected, and at one point, when he offends the female lead, Holly, he responds "Sorry, I have a syndrome." In fact, one of my new favorite movie exchanges was between Daniel and Holly:

Daniel: It's this thing I have. I can't pick up social cues.
Holly: So you're rude.
Daniel: Yeah, but that's a disease now- there's a pill for it.

Mr. Bean---absolutely aspergers--everything he does is completely against convention. I can relate to him.

Mr. Bean misses sometimes clues from people, like in the shows around the holidays. The one with his girlfriend pointing at a poster with a ring at a jeweller; and he gives her the poster and in a small box a nail with a round end (looking like a ring). And the other with Rupert and Hubert visiting him for New years-eve. They put the clock forward and leave early and the go to a 'real party'.

But on the other hand, he is a complete bastard (being mean to children and other people). And using a lot of mimicry in his face and other manners.

So, I do not think he is really Aspie, more an alien...

After having a "Taken" marathon on New Years and all of the 12 hours we were awake yesterday, I can see certain aspects in Jacob Clarke. Although, he is half-alien...

I've always thought Goren from Law & Order was a total AS kid. His oddities are just too many to name. I second Jack Sparrow in the aspect of believing that Johnny Depp is AS and he gravitates toward characters that mirror himself. I also second Gil Grissom from CSI Las Vegas. His oddities too are too numerous to recount.

I add two other names that I have not seen mentioned. Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes. His only friend is a stuffed tiger, he constantly lives in his own imaginary world where he is always the hero. He's way too smart for his own good. And who else would think those snowmen of his are anything short of wildly amusing? Let's not forget the procrastination.

My other contribution is Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds. He is a certified genius. He is obsessed with psychopaths and their behaviours. He's practically a walking encyclopedia and he reads faster than lightning. He has trouble knowing when others are joking with him and he doesn't read anyone's body language ever. He never knows that women are hitting on him and he never knows that people are bored with his knowledge. Ever watched a scene where he's in charge of briefing the law? They are always half asleep by the time he's done.

Hank Hill, obsessed with propane.
Peggy Hill, obsessed with boggle and extremely gullible.

Ralph Wiggim on Simpsons, in his own world, gets bullied, and is in his own world again. Very existential, very relatable.

Daniel Jackson from Stargate, always a walking encyclopedia of ancient code, never "gets it". He gets seduced by Vala and instead goes on about how psychologically insecure she is. Classic.

Master Chief, hardly talks, part robot, mostly alone (esp. on Legendary) and only has an AI as a true friend.

I was under the impression Ralph was mentally ret*d, or had a sluggish cognitive tempo. Doesn't seem aspergic to me.
