I was diagnosed at the age of 10, in year 5 of primary school, with asperger's and ADD.
I was assessed, at my request, and diagnosed with dyslexia at 20 or 21 when I was at uni.

If I'm remembering correctly Paris will mark two years of being diagnosed. I was 13 at the time

I was diagnosed at 14 with aspergers and OCD. What finally got my parents to get me checked out was when I kept missing a lot of school since I was depressed and other numerous reasons such as the anxiety I would have and classes I hated like Algebra and gym (at the time I did exercise all the time at home, I don't care for sports though). The Algebra class worked out badly for me since that specific class did not have Algebra textbooks allowed to us (unlike all other math classes I had ever had), this meant I had to ask for help and pay attention instead of reading in the book and figuring things out for myself. I have never been very good with math but I think it's understandable for an aspie to not do very well in a class if they have to ask for help and cannot figure something out on their own. I also was obsessed with having clear acne-free skin too and went to the high school with my face covered in acne medication quite a lot early in that grade(9th). All the aformentioned issues and quirks I had is what got my parents to finally get me checked out at a psychologist and that's when I was diagnosed, I really wish they would have caught on sooner, I failed algebra and I now do something similar to homeschooling and I have yet to catch up on the math.

I was about 51 when I self-diagnosed. I always knew I was different, but didn't know why. Then while reading "Speed of Dark" by Elizabeth Moon I realized I had a lot in common with the main character who was a high-functioning autistic. I did online research, took tests, scored very high. I am now in therapy with a confirmed diagnosis. It is actually a relief to know I am not alone with my problem, that others have it too. Really hard to cope with it, though. I'm in my third marriage, and basically my wife is my only friend. She is mildly AS, so it helps her understand, but female Aspies are different from the male variety, and my quirks upset her, too.
