I liked Christmas as a kid & teen mostly because I got prezzies or money & was out of skewl for a couple weeks. I never really gave others gifts except my parents would pick out a gift for the other that he/she wanted me to get her/him. I haven't cared for Christmas much as an adult either except I do like getting money from my parents. I don't really do gift giving except my girlfriend picks out something she wants me to buy her & I do the same for her. It's like this for our birthdays too. I worked 3 Christmases in retail & think it's WAY to commercialized. I also don't like Christmas music unless it's funny or parodies. Most Christmas music you here is hundreds of people or groups doing their versions of the same 10 songs.

When I was a kid I loved Christmas but when I was in my late teens I got sick one year on Christmas Eve and then for years after that my anxiety would get really bad every time Christmas came near because I'd be afraid it would happen again. The following year I asked my mom if I could get a flu shot and she reacted as if I asked if I could get one of my healthy kidneys removed without donating it, and told me I was being ridiculous. Funny thing is that both my parents get flu shots every year now. Their doctor educated them about it, I guess. I'd also be terrified that one of my parents or my brother would get sick on Christmas, in fact my dad was sick the very next year that I was. I believed that a certain someone up there must really hate you if they allow you to get sick on Christmas. :x

But now I don't worry about it much. It would still really suck if I did or if they did just before going to my parents though. But if it happened while I was at their house it would be even worse. :(

I like the free stuff, but I also have many memories of meltdowns on Christmas, and I haven't seen God ask for it ever, and even as a holiday I don't know why non Christians would celebrate it. I also hated Santa as a child for giving me girly crap. So, mixed I suppose.
