ASD is a Brain-Body condition, not just neurological
Yes. Meta-nutrition is important for everyone and may be even more important for people on the spectrum, and autism may be many overlapping "subtypes" of autism. Both of these ideas seem to be collecting more and more valid evidence.
In essence, it may be a turning point where simplistic ideas will increasingly be replaced by complex approaches, and that will be a very important transition, so far as I can see.
I agree, we need a Health Brain-Body Forum on WP. I have a host of different traits--sensory, social issues, intestinal, motor skills, difficulty learning some new things, etc. I think we would all benefit from a forum dedicated to our brain-body issues

Having read just about everything that google throws up in regard to the "gut-brain" connection, most of which makes a modicum of sense, four months ago I started a personal experimental diet project. I make Kefir - a fermented probiotic milk drink every day, and also make raw sauerkraut rich in probiotics, which I consume some of each day. Note: neither are bought commercial products which have been manipulated to alter the probiotic content in some way. The Kefir is made from kefir milk grains, and the sauerkraut uses no starter other than the natural bacteria present on the cabbage leaves.
There isn't a shadow of doubt in my mind that there seems to be far less drama in my daily life subsequent to the above. But how can one quantify symptoms? Am I 10% - 25% - 50% better? Or is my diet project producing results because I want them to, a bit like the placebo effect?
How would Wrong Planet contributors seek to quantify the above?
