That's how I see it it too. It's like they all want the mild radition burns generally called getting a tan. Give me shade and some decent AC any day.

Several have mentioned sport as a thing they don't like that everyone else loves. Me too. Football of all kinds in particular. I'd rather do the grocery shopping than sit down a watch a game. Plus it annoys me that people, grown adults no less, get paid a fortune to chase a ball. Fair enough if some people like sport - I don't get it but if it gives other people pleasure, fine - but the kind of money spent on hiring players in some sports is obscene.

Top five list of things I hate that the majority of others like...
1. HipHop/Rap
2. Action Adventure movies
3. Adrenaline rush activities like roller coasters
4. Texting
5. Floral bouquets/arrangements (I see no beauty in fresh cut flowers, only objects in stage one of their demise!)

That's par for the course on an ASD website: sports haters.

There are individuals who are sports obsessives on WP as well, but they are few and far between.

I like songs like Keep on Dancing by the Gentrys. I like those dance songs---like Mashed Potato and Locomotion (Locomotion also has a hard-rock version done in the 1970s).

How about Jimi Hendrix? The Who?

Yeah Rolling Stones (Sympathy for the devil lol the title)
The Who. Who are you? who? who? lol.

Sam Cooke do you know him?
Marvin Gaye?

Sam Cooke? Practically invented soul music.
Marvin Gaye took it to the stratosphere. :)

I like sports.

I like to watch baseball, basketball, football....even soccer sometimes!

I grew up liking the Yankees and (somewhat) the Mets.

The Jets...The Giants...The Knicks!

I used to despise sports.

But now am able to delude others into thinking I give a crap about it long enough to join in small talk about it. Even delude myself into thinking I give a crap about it! :D

I always sucked at sports, was the last guy picked, etc.

But I always liked to watch sports.....even things like bowling!

I became a fan of Notre Dame when I was 7. They used to tape the games, and show them on Sunday morning at 7 AM. It was much better than Sunrise Semester or something like that.

"Locomotion...Ahhhh...Grand Funk Railroad....the band that exploded onto the mainstream and then exploded into the nostream....

Oddly enough, I just don't get Hendrix or Clapton's following. Yes, they were very, very good, but I just don't get the adoration....sorry......I really have tried because it's really hard to talk to people about playing guitar. But even more so if you don't pander to those two in conversations.

I actually liked Keith Richards, Pete Townsend and people of their ilk much better.

Yigeren, I hope my avatar doesn't annoy the crap out of you, and sorry if it does.

Something that I love that everyone else seems to hate:

- Androgyny (As a subset I would add femboys who are straight seem to not be popular, at least)

On the opposite end, things I hate that others seem to love:

- Sports
- The Beatles
- Women's breasts
- Following celebrities as people to take advice from.
- All social platforms as a form of friend collecting and fake news mongering (e.g, Facebook)

It's more like fandoms of things are more frustrating than the thing itself. It's just that the popular things tend to have fans that act rather ridiculous for their particular fandom and that really irks me beyond expression.

It's really funny that everybody thinks Anime and Manga are just big faces with huge eyes. But, they both can be very realistic and not cartoony. It's more of a cutural attitude and bias dealing with archetypal characters and follow a very specific 'role playing' part in many places. A lot of cultural meaning such as things like two colored eyes (One blue, one purple or something like that) suggesting hidden characteristics or duality in character.

As for the cartoony drawing style, I get it if you don't like it. But, strictly for me, I find the expressiveness they can achieve is amazing.

Yeah, I like the expressiveness, too; and since American and European art is generally ugly to me, I prefer the aesthetic focus of anime, which places a higher emphasis on environmental quality and (sometimes) it's characters. That and everything American has to be 3D these days...

On your earlier comment zkydz, I'm on board with the Hendrix confusion. My father was a big fan, but I never heard anything of his that really spoke to me. Skill is one thing, but with music I can't get on board until a hear a song where the music inspires me in some way.

Androgyny is a hated thing? Hm. That could explain a few things, maybe.

Though in my experience, people just tend to get a bit weird about it, which can be a little alarming. I've never been able to tell wether they think it's good, bad, or just strange.
