I stay indoors where it's air conditioned and drink a lot of water. Most of the water I like to drink is sparkling water with a few drops of lime Mio but it still does the job.

I live somewhere very hot (Brazil) and I always like to get a very cold shower before sleeping if it's too hot – sometimes I even don't dry completely. Put icy water in front the fan if you have one, an wet towel near your bed can help you sleep too.

Drink lots of water and eat ice cream as well.

Distracting yourself as well as staying hydrated helps me. We really need to do earth a favor by being more eco friendly.

I would love to live out in the sticks, but where I'm at right now is fine. Plenty of trees, a moderate amount of privacy, and a good amount of wildlife as well.

And it's pretty close to shopping and etc.

so you must live in a woodsy suburb then? where I live could be called an exurb. 40 minute drive into town via a highway. 40 minutes approx. to the next town as well. surrounded by water on one or the other side of the drive. many lakes and rivers and ocean inlets here.

At the moment in England especially where I live in the South we are having extremely hot weather reaching up to 35C/92F. We are so not use to it. It is not just hot it is humid. Also I live on the top floor of a block of flats where heat rises. Sleeping at night is a challenge as the heat is continual.

Now usually a heat wave I can handle but this it is getting to the point where it is making me irritable.

I lived in Southern Mississippi for 5 years. The heat you describe is NOTHING. Think over 100F for weeks, sometimes MONTHS on end. And I bet its not HUMID in England at all.

Hey, you get used to it.

Well my home and car were both air conditioned LOL. Car AC is pretty much a requirement in the Southern and Western states. Otherwise you are driving around in an oven for half the year.

Sort of, I guess.

Most of my friends weren't that far out in the sticks @_@ But I have one friend who used to live down this winding dirt two-track: it had swamp on both sides, and you were lucky if you didn't get stuck in the mud on the way there. Usually we parked a ways out, and walked the rest.

I just sweat profusely and tell myself that it will pass in a couple of months. My family is from that fourth world country in the Caribbean so I don't mind that I don't have AC in my house. I just think about all the people there who don't have it either. You can get used to it. I do make efforts to stay hydrated though. That is most important.

my oily greasy sticky smelly nasty sweat drives me batty. I avoid it whenever possible. I especially hate it when sweat-soaked clothing rubs against my skin and chafes.

If that is the kind of sweat you have, you may need to reexamine what you are eating. Sweat should not be nasty. It should not even smell.

all my life, no matter what diet I've been on, the sweat is the same. it is just what i'm made of, I guess.
