I think one of the things that hurt me the most if when my mother told me that she has to lie about me to her friends to make me sound more normal. because she's embarrased I'm not out dating and socializing like a girl my age should be doing according to society.

Oh, and my favorite one: While working at a plastics factory and talking to two of the other women who worked the second floor, one of them turns to me and says "You know, we all look at you and wonder what planet you feel off of."

That is what drove me to click on the link to this site....because I feel like I'm on the wrong planet sometimes. A positive from a negative, I guess.

When my entire family was in the car, my father was driving and he pulled in to a handicapped space. My mother quickly said "You can't park here." he said "It's okay, Lauren [my real name] is mentally handicapped."

it seems that some peeps are just cruel and evil and just put on the planet to cause as much s*&$t as possible.

I feel so stupid when my mother asks me if I really need my antidepressants.

I just got sick of how my mom blamed everything on aspergers. She used it as a crutch to get my brother everything he wanted, and a club to beat my self-respect to bloody pulp. "You can't keep him off the football team, he has aspergers! I'll sue the school for discrimination!" "Oh, she can't handle regular classes, special ed will do fine." WHAT?!It took me forever to sort that one out -_-

Literally every action I made she blamed on aspergers, from my falling in love online, to insisting I wasn't lieing about my abuse. 'These obsession you have, it's your aspergers, why can't you let it go?' No mom, these obsessions I have are due to the fact that I don't like to be suxually abused!! Last time I checked, it's farely normal to not want your older brother to molest you! ((please pardon my bad mood today, hormones))

People tell me all the time that I made up my diagnosis in an attempt to get sympathy and I've actually had to offer to upload a pic of the paperwork explaining my diagnosis to some people.
